Role Overview
At Astra Security, we just launched the coveted API Security Platform and are now venturing into Autonomous Pentesting using AI - an experience that helps teams discover, test and secure Web & Mobile applications, Cloud and APIs at scale. As a Technical Program Manager, you’ll orchestrate multi‑team initiatives including Platform engineering, Vulnerability Scanners (for DAST, Cloud, API & Mobile) and new scanners - driving them from 0→1 to GA.
You’ll pair strong business analytics with hands‑on fluency in either TypeScript (preferable) / Go (Golang) / Python to shape scope, trade‑offs and execution alongside SDEs and other Leads. This is a high‑visibility, high‑impact role working directly with the CTO, Engineering Manager and Product team.

Technical Expertise
- Be the go‑to expert in one or more core technologies (TypeScript or PHP - Laravel/Symfony) and take initiative to learn new ones.
- Design and implement medium‑to‑large features that push the platform forward while reducing technical debt and improving maintainability.
- Lead architectural discussions and ensure smooth integration across platform services, scanners and microservices.
- Be hands‑on with writing code, contributing a good amount of time with development tasks as required.
Project Management
- Lead and manage the full project lifecycle along with the Tech leads & engineers in ensuring timely delivery of high‑quality software.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, monitor progress and report on project status to stakeholders.
- Balance priorities and trade‑offs across multiple initiatives, keeping alignment between engineering execution and business objectives.
- Own and improve SDLC best practices across the organization.
Communication and Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with engineers, QA, product owners, leadership and other stakeholders to keep initiatives aligned and outcomes successful.
- Effectively communicate project goals, timelines, and expectations to cross‑functional teams.
- Coordinate team members providing effective feedback and moderating discussions.
- Identify and assess potential risks early , proactively implementing mitigation strategies to keep initiatives on track.
- Handle unexpected challenges with resilience and adaptability.
Ownership and Operations
- Own the production operation, ensuring timely delivery of technical projects and monitoring system performance.
- Evolve the architecture to support future requirements and define its SLAs.
Leadership and Management
- Step in as an Engineering Manager when needed , providing clarity, leadership and guidance to the team.
- Support team growth by managing career development, performance, expectations and overall well‑being.
- Define and adapt processes that fit the team’s maturity level, balancing agility with the discipline needed for scale.
Impact and Evolution
- Champion innovation by pushing boundaries in autonomous pentesting, vulnerability scanners, and new product initiatives.
- Make an impact on the whole tech organization/product engineer teams.
- Lead the 0→1 journey of upcoming products in the platform along with respective Tech Lead/SDEs.
