Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of overall professional experience in software engineering, with a clear progression into technical leadership.
- 3+ years of experience in a formal technical leadership or engineering management role (e.g., Tech Lead, Architect, or EM).
- 5+ years of hands‑on-keyboard experience in backend, AI, or full‑stack engineering. You must have a strong "builder" background.
- Expert‑level proficiency in a primary backend language (e.g., Python, Node.js) and object‑oriented design principles.
- 4+ years of experience architecting, developing, and delivering AI/ML or cloud‑native solutions on AWS.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and growing engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and high‑trust environment.
- Demonstrable experience owning end‑to‑end project delivery, managing technical risks, and ensuring timely execution of milestones.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and align technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrable expertise in system design and architecture of complex, scalable, and secure distributed systems.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both engineers and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Deep, hands‑on expertise with the modern AWS stack (e.g., Bedrock, OpenSearch, Kendra, Lex, EKS/ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's in Computer Science, Machine learning, or a related field.
- Specific, deep experience with Generative AI, including RAG pipelines, agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex), and model orchestration (e.g., Amazon Bedrock).
- Direct experience building custom data analysis "skills" or models, especially for non‑standard data (e.g., scientific, financial, or time‑series data).
- Experience leading teams that build complex, data‑driven UIs (e.g., React) and analytics dashboards.
- Hands‑on full‑stack development experience (React + Node.js + Python).
- Proven track record of integrating with third‑party enterprise APIs (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, or other CRM/ERPs) and handling complex data mapping and authentication.
- Expertise in designing for non‑functional requirements: high availability, low‑latency, and robust security.
- Deep knowledge of cloud security best practices (e.g., IAM policy, network security, encryption, WAF, compliance).
- Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps principles.
- Proficiency with modern observability stacks (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
- Experience as the primary technical point of contact in client‑facing engagements.
- Expertise in running agile sprints, conducting code reviews, and managing technical debt.
