Job Overview

Summary: Servant leader who enables high-performing Agile teams by coaching Scrum practices, removing impediments, and fostering continuous improvement. Works closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to align scope, capacity, and delivery while promoting transparency through tooling and metrics.

Context

Hands-on Scrum Master for product engineering environments, familiar with SAFe and enterprise-scale Agile.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Ceremonies: Plan, prepare, and run Scrum events (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives).
  • Capacity & Planning: Align product requirements with team affordability using velocity, capacity planning, and budget awareness.
  • Remove Impediments: Proactively identify and eliminate blockers to enable continuous flow and high throughput.
  • KPI Tracking: Measure team KPIs (velocity, cycle time, predictability, quality) and drive improvement actions.
  • Tooling & Transparency: Maintain and improve transparency of team progress using Jira, Confluence, and GitHub.
  • Goal Focus: Encourage clear sprint and incremental goals; help the team formulate and own acceptance criteria.
  • Story Tracking: Assist in tracking user story implementation and acceptance; coordinate with QA and DevOps for environments and releases.
  • Cross-functionality: Ensure the team is cross-functional and promotes knowledge-sharing across domains.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Serve as liaison between the team, Product Owner, and stakeholders; support backlog grooming and prioritization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Coach the team on Agile best practices, promote a learning mindset, and run improvement experiments.
Required Skills
  • Agile Experience: 3–5 years in Scrum Master/Agile facilitator roles with practical experience in Scrum and Agile transformations.
  • SAFe Knowledge: Working knowledge of the SAFe framework and experience in scaling Agile across teams.
  • Tools: Hands-on with Jira, Confluence, and GitHub (or equivalent ALM tools).
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written English; strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
  • Analytical & Problem Solving: Ability to analyze team metrics and root causes, propose actionable improvements.
  • Time & Work Management: Strong time management, prioritization, and result-oriented delivery focus.
  • Servant Leadership: Demonstrated servant-leader mindset—coaching, mentoring, enabling teams.
  • Collaboration: Teamwork mentality and experience working with cross-functional IT teams (developers, QA, DevOps).
  • Self-Organization: Self-motivated and organized with a drive to learn and teach effectively.
  • Domain: Prior experience in software development environments.
Nice-to-Have
  • Certifications: PSM, CSM, SAFe Agilist or equivalent Agile certifications.
  • Enterprise Experience: Experience with large-scale Agile/SAFe implementations and multi-team PI planning.
  • Metrics & Observability: Familiarity with tools for measuring flow/predictability and dashboards (e.g., Jira Insights, Azure DevOps analytics).
  • DevOps Awareness: Understanding of CI/CD practices and DevOps collaboration.
  • Remote/Distributed Teams: Experience facilitating distributed teams and hybrid work models.
  • Additional Tools: Experience with other collaboration and tracking tools or automation around Agile workflows.
