Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Lead Cross-BU Activities (m/f/d) for our new India SW Lab. The India SW Lab will be a core component of the global Advantest R&D organization.

In this position, you will technically lead software activities involving multiple Advantest Business Units. The focus is on establishing synergies, end-to-end workflows, and common interfaces across Advantest products and solutions.

This role is intended for a senior, hands-on technical expert with strong knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Advantest. You will work closely with the global Architecture team and report directly to the R&D Director India SW Lab.

The position is onsite only in Bangalore, India.

What you will do

• Technically lead cross-BU software projects from concept to working solution
• Identify synergies and common technical needs across products and Business Units
• Drive end-to-end workflows and common interfaces between products
• Work closely with the Architecture team and involved engineering teams
• Lead technical discussions and drive decisions
• Translate requirements into clear technical concepts and implementation plans
• Resolve complex technical issues and cross-team dependencies
• Contribute hands-on through reviews, prototypes, and implementation, using AI-native engineering approaches where appropriate

Essential Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in software development, system design, or technical leadership
• Strong experience in the semiconductor or semiconductor test industry
• Good knowledge of Advantest products, software, and Business Units
• Experience technically leading complex projects across multiple teams
• Hands-on technical depth in software design, interfaces, and system integration
• Ability to drive discussions and turn decisions into working solutions
• Good knowledge of AI technologies, AI-assisted software development, and AI-native engineering approaches
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Requirements

• Experience with semiconductor test equipment and test software
• Experience with systems covering hardware, embedded software, and application software
• Experience defining shared interfaces or software capabilities across products
• Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams
• Practical experience applying AI-native approaches in software development, testing, or products
• German, Japanese, and/or Chinese language skills are a plus
