We are looking for a highly motivated Build and Release Manager to lead and govern Build and Release activities for the COSMOS Project. The Build & Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and governing software build and release activities across the product lifecycle, ensuring timely, high-quality, and compliant deliveries aligned with Agile/SAFe PI and Sprint cadences. This role serves as the central point of coordination between development, integration, quality assurance, project management, and customer-facing teams to drive release readiness, build execution, repository synchronization, and delivery management. The Build & Release Manager oversees end-to‑end release planning, build candidate creation, versioning, packaging, quality gate compliance, release documentation, and deployment coordination. The role ensures that all software releases meet defined quality standards, traceability requirements, and project governance expectations through effective evidence collection, Software Release Readiness (SRR) management, and stakeholder approvals. The successful candidate will possess strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines, release management processes, Jira, Confluence, Git‑based repository management, and software versioning practices. They will proactively manage release risks, coordinate hotfix and blocker releases, resolve build and integration issues with cross‑functional teams, and continuously improve release automation, workflows, and operational efficiencies. This position requires excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to provide clear release status, risk assessments, and go/no‑go recommendations while ensuring smooth collaboration between project management, development, QA, architecture, integration, and external customer teams.
Release Management Processes & MethodologiesStrong understanding of Agile and SAFe release management practices, including PI planning, sprint alignment, release cadence management, scope freeze, release branching, and hotfix strategies. Experience in end-to‑end software release management, including Software Release Readiness (SRR) preparation, release governance, and stakeholder approval processes. Knowledge of change management and defect management processes, with the ability to align critical change requests and high‑priority defects to release planning and gating criteria. CI/CD, Build & Release ToolingHands‑on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or equivalent build automation platforms. Proficiency in monitoring build pipelines, triggering releases, managing build promotions, and ensuring artifact traceability. Strong experience with Jira (DevStack/VWIF or equivalent), including Fix Versions, Release Hubs, JQL queries, dashboards, and release tracking. Proficiency in Confluence for maintaining release documentation, SRR records, release checklists, evidence repositories, and delivery logs. Good understanding of Git‑based version control systems, repository synchronization, branching strategies, and release management workflows. Familiarity with static code analysis, security scanning, test automation frameworks, and quality gate validation processes. Technical SkillsUnderstanding Java‑based applications, service‑oriented architectures, and native build environments. Knowledge of software versioning, branching strategies, tagging, hotfix management, and reproducible build practices. Awareness of software integration processes, dependency management, and release integration constraints across distributed systems. Understanding software build artifacts, packaging, deployment preparation, and release distribution mechanisms. Quality, Compliance & TraceabilityExperience in release evidence management and end-to‑end traceability from requirements and Jira work items to commits, builds, test results, and delivered artifacts. Ability to prepare comprehensive release packages, including SRR documentation, release notes, rollback procedures, known issues, and approval records. Understanding of software quality standards, compliance requirements, audit readiness, and release governance processes. Knowledge of data protection and information security practices related to release documentation and artifact management. Communication & Stakeholder ManagementStrong coordination and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across Development, QA, Architecture, Integration, Product Owners, Project Managers, and Customer teams. Excellent problem‑solving skills to drive resolution of build, integration, and release‑related issues. Ability to communicate release status, risks, dependencies, mitigation plans, and go/no‑go recommendations to senior stakeholders.
