Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a backend-focused Technical Leader to guide the architecture and development of the Ecoplant platform in Bengaluru. You will drive backend design while remaining hands-on and mentor engineers across a growing team.

You will collaborate with global teams in Israel and Europe to shape the platform's technical direction and scale backend services for real-time data analytics and automation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript (NestJS preferred).
• Experience designing distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience with messaging or streaming systems (Kafka, SQS, Redis Streams, etc.).
• Experience working in cloud environments (GCP preferred, AWS also relevant).
• Strong system design and architectural thinking.
• Working knowledge of modern frontend frameworks (React preferred).
• Ability to mentor engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Experience working in cross-functional and distributed teams.

Responsibilities

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will drive backend architecture and development while serving as a technical anchor for the engineering team. As the Bangalore engineering presence grows, this role offers an opportunity to evolve into broader technical leadership as the team expands.
