Job summary

Gensler in Bengaluru seeks a Technical Designer with computational design capabilities to advance parametric analysis on urban projects. You will promote BIM workflows and elevate digital modelling protocols across the studio.

You will lead parametric workflows, collaborate with design teams, and contribute to climate-focused analyses. A strong portfolio and 6+ years of experience are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

As a Technical Designer with computational design capability, you will be a key member of the Borderless Studio, advancing parametric design and computational analysis on a multitude of urban projects at various scales. You will promote, implement, and elevate our BIM and digital modelling workflows and protocols, and help advance the computational and parametric capabilities, tools and workflows of the studio.

Technical Design Qualifications

• Good working knowledge and experience in Autodesk Revit for design authoring, documentation, data extracts and project delivery.
• Experience with strategic planning, setup of BIM projects and collaboration within the BIM context, including cloud‑based markups, consultant coordination and clash detection.
• Deep knowledge of computational geometry (topology optimisation, medial axis, point clouds, rationalisation, panelisation, Delaunay meshes, etc.).
• Practical experience in computational design applications such as Grasshopper, Dynamo, etc.
• Ability to build and deploy Grasshopper/Dynamo scripts & plugins.
• Knowledge of RhinoCommon, RhinoCompute, Grasshopper SDKs and Revit API.
• Deep understanding of software interoperability routines.

Desirable

• Basic understanding of real‑time rendering processes and material creation & management within BIM and parametric workflows.
• Understanding of information management tools such as Aconex, Asite, Newforma, etc.
