Kyndryl in Bengaluru is seeking a Power BI Migration Engineer to drive tenant-to-tenant migrations, validate outcomes, and resolve post-migration issues. You will work in a 24x7 factory and handle runbooks, evidence capture, and ticket updates across multiple waves.

You will execute migration runbooks, perform post-migration validation, ensure workspace access and refresh behaviors, and contribute to runbook improvements and hyper-care support.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Power BI migrations in production.
• Hands-on tenant-to-tenant migration execution in production.
• Strong knowledge of Power BI Service: workspaces, permissions, datasets, reports.
• Experience with post-migration validation and issue resolution.
• Ability to work in a three-shift 24x7 Factory model.
• Strong documentation, ticketing, and handover skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

The Role

As a Power BI Migration Engineer, you will execute runbooks to move Power BI artefacts and operational configurations between tenants, validating outcomes and resolving standard errors with playbooks. You will support wave execution, perform post‑migration checks (access, refresh behaviour, workspace settings) and maintain disciplined evidence capture and ticket updates. You will be part of a 24x7 factory team and measured on throughput, quality and the ability to resolve defects quickly and cleanly.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute migration runbooks for assigned Power BI scope: workspace artefacts, access remapping tasks, post‑migration validation checks.


• Run validation for reports/datasets and complete functional smoke tests; document findings and attach evidence.


• Support refresh and gateway reconfiguration steps where in scope; validate connectivity and scheduled refresh behaviour.


• Resolve standard defects using playbooks; elevate appropriately with complete diagnostics.


• Maintain high‑quality ticket hygiene and evidence capture per wave.


• Participate in shift handovers and ensure work can be continued seamlessly.


• Support reporting: throughput counts, defect categories, recurring issues.


• Provide hyper‑care support post‑cutover, resolving incidents and contributing to runbook improvements.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum exp- 7 years


• Hands‑on experience in Power BI tenant‑to‑tenant migration execution in production.


• Strong working knowledge of Power BI Service, including workspaces, permissions, datasets, reports, and operational issues.


• Experience executing repeatable migration runbooks with strict evidence capture and closure standards.


• Experience with post‑migration validation and resolving access, refresh, and missing dependency issues.


• Experience working in shift‑based environments with formal handovers and queue/backlog management.


• Strong documentation skills for tickets, handovers, and escalations.


• Ability to work under time‑sensitive cutover pressure while maintaining quality and compliance.


• Strong communication, collaboration, risk identification, and escalation skills.


• Willingness to work in a three‑shift 24x7 Factory model.

Preferred Skills

• PL‑300 certification or equivalent.


• Experience with third‑party Power BI tenant migration tools.


• Knowledge of Power BI data source connectivity, gateways, and operational monitoring.


• Experience supporting enterprise cutovers and hyper‑care models.


• Experience improving shared migration runbooks and operational playbooks.
