Job summary

Sureify is seeking a Business Systems Analyst with US Life & Annuity domain experience to document detailed functional and technical requirements, acceptance criteria, and data mappings for user stories. You will collaborate with customers, SMEs, and QA to ensure high-quality solutions in an Agile Scrum environment.

The role requires strong communication, problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with life administration systems and core financial platforms. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
• 2+ years of U.S. life and annuity industry knowledge and experience.
• Experience with life administration systems and other core financial systems including data migrations, integrations, and analytics.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Experience in Agile Scrum environments and defining functional requirements.
• Jira experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily scrum meetings and sprint ceremonies.
• Scope out features during solution design workshops.
• Work directly with customers to develop core system data mapping requirements.
• Identify gaps between Sureify product features and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to elaborate detailed functional requirements for development and testing.
• Provide clear documentation and communicate solution changes to customers.
• Support QA by reviewing test cases and ensuring acceptance criteria are met.
• Assist with testing and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with Product Owner/BA team to mature the BA practice.

About the Role

The Business Systems Analyst documents detailed functional and technical requirements, as well as acceptance criteria, for user stories. Requirements may be presented in various forms, including process flow diagrams, user interface designs, business rules, and data mappings. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented and highly innovative.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily scrum meetings and sprint ceremonies.
• Scope out features during solution design workshops.
• Work directly with customers to develop core system data mapping requirements.
• Work directly with customers to discover, organise, and clarify customer business needs.
• Identify gaps between Sureify product features and customer business requirements.
• Collaborate with the subject matter experts to elaborate detailed functional requirements to facilitate development and testing.
• Promptly answer delivery and development team questions to ensure that they understand functional requirements.
• Negotiate resolution of conflicting or competing requirements and recommend to the needed functional requirements changes or business process redesign where applicable.
• Communicate solution changes and enhancements verbally or through written documentation to the customer so that issues and solutions are understood.
• Conduct test case reviews and provide feedback to the QA team to ensure a high-quality solution.
• Assist with testing, verify acceptance criteria are met, and ensure traceability.
• Collaborate with the test automation team to ensure real-world scenarios are covered.
• Partner with the Product Owner/BA team to mature the BA practice.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as Business analyst
• 2+ years of U.S. life and annuity industry knowledge and experience required.
• Experience with life administration systems and other core financial systems required, including but not limited to system migration, data integration/transformation, and data analytics.
• The ability to read, write, and speak the English language is required.

Required Skills

• Strong written and oral communication skills required; proven ability to engage diplomatically and directly with US-based customers.
• Exceptional presentation and engagement skills.
• A solid understanding of life and annuity core system data models.
• Experience in defining and developing functional requirements in an Agile Scrum environment is required.
• Experience with various process flow diagram development methods and tools required.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills with a continuous process-improvement mentality required.
• Experience with Jira preferred.
• Ability to research and collaborate with subject matter experts.
• Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines and customer needs.
• Flexibility in meeting scheduling to accommodate working with customers in US time zones.

Education and Certification

• Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst working on complex technology implementations required.
• Also, candidates with the certifications listed below will be given priority.
• Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP)
• Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA)
• Core Administration Systems Experience: FAST, Achieve, ALIP, OIPA, Ingenium, LifePRO, AS400, WMA, PolicyCore, OneOffice, LifeAdmin Plus, CyberLife, LifeComm, Vantage, Capsil, ID3, PAS+, ALIS, etc.
