Job summary

Blue Matter is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead its data and analytics team. You will guide data warehouse design (Snowflake/Redshift/Databricks), MDМ, and reporting development (Power BI/Tableau), while driving cloud adoption (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Gen AI initiatives.

Role requires managing onshore/offshore teams, recruiting, delivering complex projects on time, and engaging clients to ensure outcomes. Prior pharma data experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering, analytics, or related field with at least 3 years in leadership/management.
• Strong proficiency in Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, Snowflake/Redshift/Databricks or similar.
• Experience handling large data volumes and setting up large-scale solutions (Airflow, Airbyte, dbt).
• Proficiency with AWS, Azure, GCP, including S3, EC2, Lambda.
• Proficiency with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis.
• Familiarity with Node.js, Python, Java; frontend basics (HTML5, CSS3, JS).
• Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs; version control (Git).
• Experience with US pharma clients/datasets preferred.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead our data and analytics team in delivering cutting‑edge solutions for our organization and life science clients. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data warehousing (Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks or similar technologies), master data management (MDM), and report development (Power BI, Tableau, Sigma or similar), with a strong focus on leveraging cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and a strong understanding of Gen AI capabilities. This role requires a proven leader who can manage onshore and offshore teams, drive recruitment and team‑building efforts, oversee project delivery, and engage with clients to ensure successful outcomes. Recent implementations using Gen AI solutions will be a bonus skill. The Technical Manager will also contribute to internal initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Oversee the design, development, and implementation of data warehouse solutions using Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, and Databricks, ensuring scalability and performance optimization.
• Reporting & Analytics: Manage the creation of advanced reports and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Sigma, and web‑based platforms to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Gen AI Adoption: Bring in latest LLMs into existing product workflow to enhance and enrich user experience.
• Cloud Solutions: Drive the adoption and optimization of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for data storage, processing, and analytics initiatives.
• Master Data Management: Lead MDM strategies to ensure data integrity, governance, and consistency across systems and processes.
• Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and manage a high‑performing team of data engineers, analysts, and developers in an onshore/offshore model.
• Project Management: Plan, execute, and deliver complex projects on time and within budget, utilizing Agile or similar methodologies.
• Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients to define requirements, align deliverables with business goals, and maintain strong relationships.
• Internal Initiatives: Champion process improvements, tool adoption, and innovation projects to enhance team productivity and organizational success.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to align technical solutions with company objectives.

Key Qualifications

• Technical Skills:
  • 8+ years in data engineering, analytics, or a related technical field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong proficiency in technologies like Redshift, Teradata, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar solutions.
  • Experience handling large volumes of data and setting up large‑scale solutions using tools like Airflow, Airbyte, dbt, etc.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including services like S3, EC2, Lambda.
  • Proficiency with database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
  • Familiarity with back‑end technologies like Node.js, Python (Django/Flask), Ruby on Rails, or Java (Spring Boot).
  • Familiarity with front‑end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like React.js, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Experience with API design and development (RESTful and/or GraphQL).
  • Knowledge of version control systems like Git and collaboration platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
  • Experience working with U.S. based pharma clients and datasets is preferred.
• Leadership and Management:
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in building and managing technical teams.

  • Strong knowledge of master data management principles and practices.
  • Excellent project management skills, with experience in Agile/Scrum frameworks.
