Summary

The Data Engineer will work with large, complex healthcare data to analyze member experiences and develop innovative solutions to optimize product delivery. The role involves collaborating with BI, Data, and Analytics teams to apply statistics, data modeling, and mathematics to identify patterns and opportunities, and to answer business questions.

The role also requires developing interactive data visualizations, dashboards, reports, and ETL solutions. Candidates should have experience with Power BI report development and data modeling, SQL scripting, and Python for ETL solutions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data for patterns and opportunities using SQL, statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, and advanced mathematics.
• Design and implement BI and reporting solutions using tools like Power BI, Tableau, Google Data Studio, etc.
• Utilize data warehousing and SQL Server/PostgreSQL tools to develop solutions.
• Create detailed testing plans to ensure data accuracy and report functionality.
• Support stakeholders by translating healthcare data into actionable insights.
• Perform analysis using SQL, Python, Power BI, and other tools.
• Transform data into BI Data Warehouses using ETL and orchestration tools like SQL, Python, Airflow, and Dbt.
• Experience with Snowflake is preferred.
• Work with technical and business teams to gather and document requirements.
• Design, build, and maintain BI Data Warehouses using techniques like Star Schema and Slowly Changing Dimensions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve BI issues.
• Develop knowledge of the business domain to ensure data relevance and accuracy.
• Monitor and troubleshoot existing BI systems.
• Understand BigQuery architecture, table partitioning, clustering, and data fabric concepts.
• Strong SQL skills are required; performance tuning is an advantage.
• Experience in physical data modeling and ETL implementation using BigQuery and related tools.
• Migration experience from SAP to Google BigQuery is a plus.
• Scripting experience in Python or Java is desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
