Job summary

Bajaj Capital is seeking a Tech Lead for React Native and Node.js to own the mobile app development for RM 360, leads, and pipeline. You will code alongside a team of 46 junior engineers and drive an AI-native engineering practice across mobile, API, and infrastructure.

You will manage AWS-based architecture, ensure secure, compliant, end-to-end delivery, and mentor engineers while setting standards for testing, release cycles, and distributed ownership. Onsite in Gurgaon.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years in software engineering with hands-on React Native (3+ years on apps in Play/Apple Store).
• 3+ years backend Node.js/TypeScript with API design & relational data modelling.
• Experience with AWS, infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience shipping production software with AI coding agents and automation.
• 2+ years as Tech Lead/Senior Engineer mentoring juniors and guiding code quality.

About the Role

Bajaj Capital is building a greenfield mobile app for its Relationship Managers (RMs) client 360, leads and pipeline, meetings, portfolios, transactions/service requests, and AI-assisted insights built on React Native, Node.js and AWS. As Technical Lead, you will own the product end to end, code alongside a team of 46 junior engineers (02 years), and run an AI-native engineering practice where AI tools are used to build, test, deploy and operate the application.

Key Responsibilities

AI-Native Development & Delivery

• Build primarily with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or approved equivalents) across mobile, API and infrastructure code; set up AI-ready repos with shared agent instructions (CLAUDE.md/AGENTS.md), prompts and templates.
• Use AI for spec-driven development, test generation, PR review in CI, IaC and pipeline authoring, build-failure triage, release notes, log/crash analysis and incident RCA with human review and ownership of every change.
• Enforce AI guardrails: approved tools only, no client data or secrets in prompts, no unattended merges or deploys, and extra scrutiny on auth, security, transactions and data access.

Hands‑on Engineering

• Mobile: architect and build the React Native (TypeScript, New Architecture) app navigation, state, design system, secure auth, offline‑first sync, push notifications, performance and Play Store/App Store/MDM releases.
• Backend: design and build Node.js (NestJS/Fastify) BFF and domain APIs with OpenAPI contracts, PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis and event‑driven processing; integrate with CRM, core wealth platforms and exchange/RTA services.
• Correctness: ensure idempotency, audit trails and hierarchy‑based access (RM TL Branch Region); transactions and consent actions are always online and server‑validated.

AWS, DevOps & Security

• Own the AWS architecture (ECS Fargate/Lambda, API Gateway, RDS/Aurora, S3, Cognito/SSO, KMS, WAF) in Indian regions, fully in Terraform/CDK, with CI/CD for both app and APIs.
• Establish observability (CloudWatch, X-Ray/OpenTelemetry, Crashlytics/Sentry), on‑call and incident management.
• Build to OWASP MASVS/ASVS; apply secure storage, certificate pinning, root/jailbreak detection and PII masking; comply with DPDP Act 2023 and SEBI CSCRF with InfoSec and Compliance.

Team Leadership & Delivery

• Mentor junior engineers through pairing, structured onboarding, graded tasks and teaching‑focused code reviews (within one working day); teach them to verify and understand every line of AI‑generated code.
• Set engineering standards Definition of Done, test pyramid (Jest, RNTL, Detox/Maestro), quality gates and ADRs.
• Own sprint planning and delivery with Product; translate RM, Sales and Compliance needs into designs; run phased pilot‑to‑scale rollouts.

Technology Stack

• Mobile: React Native, TypeScript, Expo/EAS, React Navigation, Redux Toolkit/Zustand, TanStack Query, MMKV/SQLite.

Required Qualifications

• 8–12 years in software engineering, including 3+ years of React Native with apps shipped on both Play Store and App Store.
• 3+ years of production Node.js/TypeScript backend experience, with API design and relational data modelling.
• Hands‑on AWS experience operating production workloads with infrastructure as code and CI/CD.
• Demonstrable experience shipping production software with AI coding agents, with concrete examples of workflows and results.
• 2+ years as a Tech Lead/Senior Engineer who has actively mentored freshers or junior engineers; still codes daily.
• Strong grasp of mobile security, OAuth 2.0/OIDC and handling of personal data. B.Tech/B.E./MCA in Computer Science or equivalent.

Good to Have

• Experience with BFSI/wealth/fintech field‑sales apps; knowledge of BSE StarMF, NSE NMF II, CAMS, KFintech, CKYC/KRA.
• Native Kotlin/Swift modules, offline sync engines, and enterprise app distribution via MDM.
• LLM features in products (e.g., Amazon Bedrock) with evaluations and guardrails; AWS certification.
