Qualifications

• Lead end-to-end technical design of data solutions across AWS and GCP
• Design scalable architectures for data ingestion, processing, storage, and consumption, including batch and streaming use cases
• Select cloud services and patterns while balancing performance, cost, security, and maintainability
• Review and approve technical designs and solution approaches
• Lead technical delivery of robust, governed, documented, reliable, reusable, and scalable data products
• Partner with Data Product Owners to translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans
• Ensure data products support analytics, reporting, and downstream AI/ML use cases
• Mentor data engineers and senior engineers
• Set and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and best practices
• Guide teams through complex problem-solving and architectural trade-offs
• Perform technical reviews of code, pipelines, and infrastructure changes
• Collaborate with platform architects, DevOps, and cloud operations teams
• Influence platform evolution through solution and data product feedback
• Ensure operational readiness, including monitoring, alerting, and supportability
• Ensure performance, scalability, security, access control, reliability, recoverability, and cost efficiency
• Identify and mitigate technical risks
• Communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Provide technical input for estimation, planning, and prioritization
• Support architecture reviews and technical governance forums

Requirements

• 6 to 10 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or data platform roles
• Proven experience architecting and delivering data solutions on AWS and GCP
• Strong hands-on experience building production-grade data pipelines and data products
• Deep understanding of data modeling and analytics patterns
• Deep understanding of batch and streaming architectures
• Deep understanding of cloud-native design principles
• Strong programming skills, e.g. Python and SQL
• Experience with modern data frameworks
• Ability to make sound architectural decisions under real-world constraints
• Experience with manufacturing analytics, supply chain analytics, or operational reporting
• Experience working with Lakehouse or modern data platform architectures
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps practices
• Experience supporting AI/ML workloads on top of data platforms
• Prior experience acting as a technical lead or solution owner for complex initiatives
• Exposure to multi-cloud or cloud-agnostic design principles
