Job summary

PwC Acceleration Center India is seeking a Tech Lead (Backend Developer) - Manager to drive data-driven solutions for diverse clients. You will lead teams across advisory, assurance, tax and business services, transform data into insights, and guide project planning, budgeting, and delivery with integrity.

You will mentor engineers, design scalable APIs, and deploy via Kubernetes/Docker. Strong Python, PostgreSQL, and CI/CD experience are essential.

As an Tech Lead (Backend Developer)- Manager, you will play a pivotal role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, enabling informed decision-making and driving business growth. Within our Advisory practice, you will leverage advanced analytics and statistical techniques to extract insights from large datasets, helping solve complex business problems and inform strategic decisions. As a Manager, you will lead teams and manage client accounts, focusing on strategic planning and mentoring junior staff. You are accountable for confirming project success and maintaining standards. Enhancing your leadership style, you motivate, develop, and inspire others to deliver quality. You are responsible for coaching, leveraging team members’ unique strengths, and managing performance to deliver on client expectations. Responsibilities

• Leading data science initiatives to transform raw data into actionable insights for informed decision-making
• Guiding teams in the application of advanced analytics and statistical techniques to solve complex business problems
• Developing and implementing machine learning models to enhance data-driven decision-making processes
• Collaborating with client support teams to design and develop robust data solutions that drive business growth
• Utilizing data science algorithms and troubleshooting techniques to optimize data analysis and visualization
• Mentoring team members to leverage their unique strengths and improve performance on client engagements
• Analyzing system components to identify linkages and interactions for comprehensive data solutions
• Taking ownership of projects, including planning, budgeting, execution, and completion, to meet client expectations
• Encouraging innovation and the use of technology to enhance delivery and inspire team development
• Addressing conflicts and engaging in challenging conversations with clients and stakeholders to maintain project alignment

What You Must Have

• At least a Bachelor’s degree from Tier 1
• At least 7 years of experience
• Oral and written proficiency in English required
  

What Sets You Apart

• Preference for at least one of the following fields of study: Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, Computer and Data Engineering, Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, Machine Learning, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering

• Strong proficiency in Python for production-grade application or service development.

• Experience designing, implementing, and integrating REST APIs.

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerised service deployment.

Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL, including schema design, querying, and performance tuning.

• Proficiency with Git-based collaborative development workflows.

• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including clean code, automated testing, design patterns, and maintainability.

• Working knowledge of Docker and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience setting technical direction, reviewing code, resolving complex issues, and mentoring engineers.

• Experience with asynchronous APIs, messaging platforms, or event-streaming technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

• Exposure to agentic development using frameworks such as LangGraph, the OpenAI SDK, or Google ADK.

• Leveraging tools and methodologies to generate innovative solutions
