Job summary

Guidehouse in India seeks an experienced multispecialty medical coder with EM/IP/OP expertise and CPC certification to lead coding production. You will monitor daily schedules, optimize staff allocation, and ensure adherence to guidelines while supporting training and client communication.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, coordinating with US operations to meet deadlines and maintain quality and compliance across diverse specialties.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of multispecialty Profee coding with EM/IP/OP coding.
• CPC Certified and able to interpret medical records across specialties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet daily productivity targets.
• Maintain speed and accuracy in coding alongside the team.
• Familiarity with US Healthcare RCM processes and HIPAA basics.

What You Will Do

• Monitors, directs and evaluates coding production on a daily basis. Ensures that daily schedules are met and communicates with US Operational Manager and Coding Operations if situations occur that hinder meeting deadlines. If system issues or other emergencies delay coding, implements measures/schedules to return to established coding schedules at the earliest possible time.
• Identifies day-to-day operational priorities and other workflow issues; adjusts coders, and other staff as necessary to ensure a constant flow of work so that delivery schedules are met, while respecting other parameters, such as login usage and quality/compliance considerations.
• Emphasizes productivity goals and takes action to ensure effective and efficient use of staff is maintained. Creatively plans for allocation of extra capacity for backlog coding.
• Tracks performance to ensure that staff is performing in alignment with the expectations of our clients.
• Responds to and ensures that the acknowledgement mail on daily updates is sent to US. Ensures client mails are promptly responded to.
• Codes actively alongside their team to stay abreast of all coding guidelines and processes.
• Helps to coordinate and follow through on the training plans for adding new trainees onto an account.
• Guideline updates - Co-ordinate with the QA staff to ensure that the update is understood by the coders.

What You Will Need

• 6+ Years of Experience in Multispecialty Profee coding with EM IP/OP coding.
• Basic Skill set:
• Good analytic skills and expertise to be proficient in accurately coding medical records utilizing ICD-9-CM and CPT conventions especially emergency room coding. CPC Certified.
• Strong ability to interpret medical records of the patients in different specialties.
• Ability to communicate, have excellent interpersonal, listening skills and organizational skills.
• Can work in toughest of conditions, able to handle diverse clients.
• Able to work under pressure and deliver expected daily productivity targets.
• Ability to work with speed and accuracy.

What Would Be Nice To Have

• Experience working in multiple specialties like E/M, ED, Denials
• Prior experience in handling client communication or audits
• Exposure to US Healthcare RCM process
• Proficiency in coding platforms or tools
• Ability to train or mentor Junior coders
