Job description

We are looking for an exceptional leader to drive the next generation of biometrics innovation. As Director of Biometrics Automation & AI Architecture, you will transform traditional statistical programming into a modern, AI-powered ecosystem across clinical trials and real-world evidence programmes.

In this high-impact role, you will lead the design and delivery of secure, intelligent solutions that streamline workflows, accelerate timelines, and uphold the highest standards of regulatory compliance and data integrity.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and lead the organisation’s AI strategy for statistical programming, including deployment of secure enterprise AI platforms (e.g., cloud-based LLM environments).
  • Build automated, metadata-driven pipelines that convert statistical analysis plans and shell specifications into production-ready code.
  • Establish governance frameworks for AI use, including SOPs, validation procedures, and audit controls aligned with GxP requirements.
  • Design safeguards within AI-driven processes to appropriately handle missing or incomplete clinical data without introducing bias.
  • Ensure strict data protection standards so that sensitive patient-level data and PHI are never exposed to AI systems.
  • Drive adoption of AI tools by training and mentoring statistical programmers and data scientists in structured prompting and automated validation techniques.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with biostatistics, QA, and engineering teams to maintain regulatory compliance and technical excellence.
What You’ll Gain
  • Opportunity to shape a cutting-edge AI-driven biometrics function within a fast-evolving CRO environment.
  • Exposure to advanced technologies including LLMs, RAG frameworks, and multi-agent coding systems.
  • A leadership role influencing global clinical data practices and innovation strategy.
  • Career progression within a high-impact area combining clinical science, data, and artificial intelligence.
  • A collaborative environment focused on continuous learning and technical advancement.

Quanticate is the world leading data-focused CRO, and we often work with our customers on their complicated clinical trials which require a high level of statistical programming, statistics and data management input. We need talented individuals to help us fulfil our customers’ needs.

Our customers range from top global pharmaceutical companies where you can work as an integrated team member on a world leading clinical program, to small biotechs that are taking their first steps in clinical development

We strongly advocate career development providing membership to professional societies, encouraging your involvement in their activities and committees. Together we can help you build the career you want – developing your skills, working on challenging problems, to ultimately develop clinical therapies that matter.

Knowledge
  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical data standards, reporting practices, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with AI technologies including large language models and retrieval-based systems.
  • Awareness of governance and validation requirements in regulated environments.
Work Experience
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in biometrics or statistical programming within CRO, pharmaceutical, or healthcare research settings.
  • Practical experience with CDISC implementation and clinical deliverables.
  • Proven involvement in automation or transformation initiatives.
  • Experience operating within global, cross-functional teams.
Skills
  • Strong programming capability in R, Python, and SAS.
  • Ability to design and manage scalable AI-driven solutions.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, especially with complex datasets.
  • Clear communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Leadership and team development skills.
  • High level of accuracy and focus on quality and compliance.
