Job summary

Guidehouse India Pvt Ltd in Chennai invites a skilled coding professional with 6+ years of multispecialty Profee coding (E/M IP/OP) to join our team. You will monitor coding production daily, ensure schedules are met, and coordinate with the US Operational Manager to quickly resolve any delays.

As part of a collaborative environment, you will code alongside the team, help train new trainees, coordinate guideline updates with QA, and uphold information security policies while delivering accurate

Qualifications

• 6+ years in multispecialty profee coding (E/M IP/OP).
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in ICD-9-CM and CPT, esp. ER coding.
• CPC certified.
• Ability to interpret medical records across specialties.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Resilience under pressure with diverse clients.
• Ability to meet daily productivity targets.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, directs and evaluates coding production daily.
• Ensures daily schedules are met and communicates with US Operational Manager.
• If system issues delay coding, implements measures to return to schedule.
• Identifies priorities and adjusts staff to maintain workflow.
• Emphasizes productivity goals and maintains efficiency.
• Plans allocation for backlog coding.
• Tracks performance to meet client expectations.
• Responds to and sends acknowledgment mail on daily updates to US.
• Ensures client mails are promptly responded to.
• Codes actively alongside the team to stay updated on guidelines.
• Coordinates training plans for new trainees.
• Coordinates guideline updates with QA.
• Abides by information security policy and protects information assets.
• Reports incidents related to information security.

What You Will Do:

• Monitors, directs and evaluates coding production on a daily basis.
• Ensures that daily schedules are met and communicates with US Operational Manager and Coding Operations if situations occur that hinder meeting deadlines.
• If system issues or other emergencies delay coding, implements measures/schedules to return to established coding schedules at the earliest possible time.
• Identifies day-to-day operational priorities and other workflow issues; adjusts coders, and other staff as necessary to ensure a constant flow of work so that delivery schedules are met, while respecting other parameters, such as login usage and quality/compliance considerations.
• Emphasizes productivity goals and takes action to ensure effective and efficient use of staff is maintained.
• Creatively plans for allocation of extra capacity for backlog coding.
• Tracks performance to ensure that staff is performing in alignment with the expectations of our clients.
• Responds to and ensures that the acknowledgement mail on daily updates is sent to US.
• Ensures client mails are promptly responded to.
• Codes actively alongside their team to stay abreast of all coding guidelines and processes.
• Helps to coordinate and follow through on the training plans for adding new trainees onto an account.
• Guideline updates – Co-ordinate with the QA staff to ensure that the update is understood by the coders.
• Shall understand and abide by the organizations’ information security policy and protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information assets.
• Shall report incidents related to security of information to concerned authorities.

What You Will Need:

• 6+ Years of Experience in Multispecialty Profee coding with E&M IP/OP coding.
• Basic Skill set: Good analytic skills and expertise to be proficient in accurately coding medical records utilizing ICD-9-CM and CPT conventions especially emergency room coding.
• CPC Certified.
• Strong ability to interpret medical records of the patients in different specialties.
• Ability to communicate, have excellent interpersonal, listening skills and organizational skills.
• Can work in toughest of conditions, able to handle diverse clients.
• Able to work under pressure and deliver expected daily productivity targets.
• Ability to work with speed and accuracy.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Experience working in multiple specialties like E/M, ED, Denials Prior experience in handling client communication or audits Exposure to US Healthcare RCM process Proficiency in coding platforms or tools Ability to train or mentor Junior coders Basic understanding of compliance and HIPAA regulations
