Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Bangalore invites an experienced Group Lead / Project Lead for Metro TCMS to join our rail systems team. You will define system requirements, lead TCMS software development, and manage delivery in line with project timelines.

The role demands 12+ years in rolling stock with 3–5 years in technical leadership, hands-on TCMS and IEC EN standards experience, and strong stakeholder communication. Occasional travel within India may be required.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in the rolling stock domain, including 3–5 years in a technical lead or mentorship role.
• Proven experience in team leadership, task delegation, and resource planning.
• Strong expertise in locomotive/train control systems, testing and commissioning.
• Hands-on experience with MVB, WTB and Ethernet protocols; TRDP knowledge is a bonus.
• Familiarity with IEC 50128, IEC 61131, IEC 61375 and EN 50657.

Responsibilities

• Define system requirements and interface specifications for vehicle control systems.
• Lead the design, implementation, and review of TCMS software components in compliance with applicable safety standards.
• Lead TCMS project teams, including effort estimation, hours management, and deliverable tracking.
• Manage TCMS delivery in line with project development timelines and ensure on-time delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers in TCMS design and development.
• Design and develop TCMS control functions using functional block diagrams in compliance with EN 61131-3.
• Oversee the preparation and review of software test specifications and ensure comprehensive design verification.
• Coordinate and support software integration and validation activities with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze diagnostic data, resolve complex system issues, and propose performance improvements.
• Develop and validate system-level TCMS concepts for locomotives and train applications.
• Take end-to-end ownership of software upgrades and new feature implementations following the V-model approach in compliance with EN 50657.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, system engineers, and key stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
• Conduct training sessions for customers and service teams.
