What would you do?
- The EMEA VAT Accountant is primarily responsible for overseeing VAT compliance, reconciliations, reporting, and advisory functions across multiple EMEA entities while ensuring accurate and timely tax compliance and process improvements in VAT Accounting.
- Assist with VAT audits and respond to queries from internal and external stakeholder.
- Analyze transactions to determine appropriate VAT treatment and ensure correct use of tax codes, providing recommendations for improvements.
- Monitor VAT calendar and schedule payments to comply with deadlines and avoid penalties, interests.
- Support Group Tax with global VAT projects and technical VAT queries.
- The process of generating source data and performing required analysis to support indirect periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) tax filings, based on the clients interpretation of statutory and tax requirements.
- Examples include VAT, local sales and use taxes, property and income (business) taxes.
- Focus on accuracy and attention to detail in balancing VAT accounts and returns.
What are we looking for?
- A Bachelor or master s degree in accounting, Tax.
- 5 years of relevant VAT or finance experience within a multinational environment; experience with US-based global corporations considered advantageous.
- Strong VAT technical knowledge for EMEA jurisdiction, including withholding VAT, compliance regulations.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, including fluency in English; additional European languages would be added advantage.
- Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and manage multiple VAT submissions and reconciliations concurrently.
