Job summary

NTT DATA North America is seeking an experienced Linux systems administrator to manage large-scale enterprise environments. The role focuses on advanced Linux administration, cloud and hybrid infrastructure, and reliability engineering.

You will lead incident response, implement automation with Ansible, Jenkins, and Terraform, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring security and governance in a fast-paced, 24x7 setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate with B.Tech/B.E./MCA or equivalent.
• 8–10 years in Linux/Unix admin for large-scale enterprises.
• Advanced Linux Admin with RHEL/Ubuntu/SUSE/Rocky experience.
• Kernel tuning, performance optimization, capacity planning.
• Troubleshooting complex production issues.
• Automation & configuration management with Ansible/Puppet/Chef.
• Bash and Python scripting for automation.
• Hands-on with Docker/Podman and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Cloud platforms in cloud/hybrid infra (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Splunk).
• Security/compliance knowledge (CIS/STIG/ISO/SOC2) and audit support.
• Incident, problem & change management; RCA and preventive actions.
• ITIL governance knowledge; strong communication and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead major incident handling (P1/P2) and perform RCA.
• Drive CI/CD integration with DevOps teams and automation tools.
• Mentor L1/L2 engineers and guide technical teams.

Educational Qualification: Must be a graduate (B. Tech/B.E./MCA or equivalent).

Experience: 8 to 10 years of experience in Linux/Unix system administration in large-scale enterprise environments.

• Advanced Linux Administration
• Deep expertise in Linux OS (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE, Rocky)
• Strong knowledge of kernel tuning, performance optimization, system internals, and capacity planning
• Expertise in troubleshooting complex production issues
• Automation & Configuration Management
• Strong hands-on experience with Ansible / Puppet / Chef for configuration management and automation
• Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting for automation and operational efficiency
• Experience in building reusable automation frameworks
• Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Experience managing Linux workloads in cloud and hybrid environments
• Understanding of cloud-native services, IAM, networking, and storage
• Containers & Orchestration
• Strong working knowledge of Docker / Podman
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes / OpenShift administration and troubleshooting

• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stack, Splunk or similar tools
