Responsibilities

  • Lead offshore interface between Acron Aviation US, Acron India, and HCL teams; align priorities, resources, deliverables, and schedules.
  • Plan, assign, review, and monitor Development and V&V work packages to meet quality, schedule, and technical objectives.
  • Identify and elevate technical risks, resource constraints, dependencies, and schedule impacts proactively.
  • Drive continuous improvement, including process optimization, automation, and AI-enabled tooling for verification efficiency.
  • Mentor engineers and onboard new team members, including tooling access and environments setup.
  • Support onboarding of new team members, including tool access and development environments.
  • Support certification activities in line with FAA/EASA expectations; participate in audits and certification reviews.
  • Coordinate across systems, software, hardware, quality, CM, certification, and program teams; provide status reporting and risk visibility.

Within Avionics, the Surveillance product line develops and sustains systems that enable aircraft awareness, collision avoidance, and airspace interoperability. Our portfolio includes TCAS, Mode S transponders, ADS-B, and integrated surveillance solutions deployed across commercial, military, and rotorcraft platforms. This work is performed in highly regulated environments and demands deep expertise across systems, hardware, software, and RF throughout the full product lifecycle.

Systems Engineering Technical Coordination Lead India

Position Summary

Acron Aviation is seeking a Systems Engineering Functional Lead & HCL Coordinator to lead independent systems development and verification and validation (IV&V) activities for safety-critical avionics products. This role serves as the primary offshore focal point between Acron Aviation engineering teams and HCL delivery teams, ensuring execution quality, technical rigor, schedule alignment, and certification readiness.

The successful candidate will combine hands-on technical development and verification expertise with team leadership, partner coordination, and day-to-day execution management. This individual will provide technical direction, oversee work assignments, review deliverables, drive issue resolution, and maintain alignment across software, systems, hardware, certification, and program stakeholders.

This is a highly visible role requiring strong ownership, technical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision across globally distributed teams. This role may require occasional international travel to Acron Aviation sites, customer locations, certification events, and engineering integration activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Coordination
  • Act as the primary interface between Acron Aviation U.S. engineering teams, Acron India engineering teams, and HCL delivery teams, ensuring alignment of priorities, resources, deliverables, and schedules.
  • Lead daily execution of systems activities for avionics products
  • Plan, assign, review, and monitor Development and V&V work packages while ensuring quality, schedule, and technical objectives are achieved
  • Identify and elevate technical risks, resource constraints, dependencies, and schedule impacts proactively
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization, automation, AI-enabled tools, and verification efficiency enhancements
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance to offshore Development and V&V team members
  • Support onboarding of new team members, including tool access, process training, and development environment setup
  • Systems and Software Verification
  • Define, review, and execute verification activities for system requirements, interface requirements, and integration requirements
  • Develop and execute requirements and requirements-based testing, analysis, inspections, and reviews in accordance with certification objectives
  • Author and maintain systems requirements, test procedures, test cases, automated test assets, test reports, and verification artifacts
  • Partner with systems development teams to investigate coverage gaps, resolve anomalies, and close certification findings
  • Certification and Compliance Support
  • Support certification activities in accordance with FAA and EASA expectations
  • Participate in Systems Reviews (SR) and Stage of Involvement (SOI) audits and certification reviews
  • Prepare and review certification evidence packages and compliance documentation
  • Author or review requirements, verification plans, procedures, test reports, traceability data, coverage reports, and certification support documentation
  • Ensure requirements and design evidence is complete, traceable, and audit-ready
  • Requirements Traceability and Defect Management
  • Maintain bidirectional traceability between requirements, design artifacts, source code, tests, verification results, and problem reports
  • Utilize approved requirements, configuration management, and defect tracking tools
  • Lead defect triage activities for software and integrated system anomalies
  • Support root cause investigations, corrective action verification, and objective evidence collection
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Coordinate across systems, software, hardware, quality, configuration management, certification, and program teams
  • Lead technical reviews, readiness reviews, and status meetings
  • Create clear work instructions and tasking packages that enable consistent execution across distributed teams
  • Provide regular status reporting, metrics, risk visibility, and closure plans to program and engineering leadership
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 8–12 years of experience in avionics systems verification, software verification, IV&V, or embedded systems validation within regulated environments
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required to support engineering, certification, and program activities.
  • Experience leading small to medium-sized engineering teams, work packages, or supplier-delivered activities
  • Strong knowledge of ARP-4754A and systems lifecycle verification activities
  • Familiarity with ARP4754, DO-178 and DO-254 concepts and systnes/hardware/software integration environments
  • Experience supporting certification programs involving FAA, EASA, or equivalent regulatory authorities
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience within avionics or embedded systems environments
  • Experience using requirements, configuration management, and defect tracking tools such as:
  • IBM DOORS
  • Matlab
  • Windchill
  • ClearCase/ClearQuest or equivalent tools
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Experience using automation and AI tools to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency
  • Demonstrated a continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to evaluate processes and implement more effective ways of working
  • Ability to adopt and promote automation and AI tools to improve team speed, quality, and execution
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Experience supporting offshore engineering delivery models and external engineering partners
  • Experience working directly with HCL or similar engineering service organizations
  • Familiarity with ARP4754A, ARP4761, and DO-330
