Job summary

Dexcom in Bengaluru, India invites a Systems Engineer 2 to join a cross-functional team developing medical device software and hardware. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; 2+ years of related experience, or advanced degree without experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional teams.
• Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., Jama Connect).
• Knowledge of hardware and software design; NPD experience preferred.
• Willingness to learn GenAI-based documentation generation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and maintain Product Needs and System/Software Requirements, ensuring traceability between requirements and design elements.
• Use GenAI tools to draft documentation, refine requirements, and manage traceability, ensuring accuracy of AI outputs.
• Participate in system integration testing for both software and hardware sub-systems, identify and troubleshoot issues.
• Assist in creating test plans and test cases, and support verification trace matrices.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and QA teams to contribute to project delivery.
• Demonstrate proactive communication and adjust plans as needed.

Meet the team:

As a Systems Engineer 2 at Dexcom, you will be an integral part of our dynamic and collaborative Systems Engineering team in India. You will work closely with experienced professionals who are passionate about leveraging technology to make a positive impact on patients. You will be working in a fast-paced cross-functional environment, demonstrating rigor and a sense of urgency as you contribute to cutting-edge medical device development.

Where you come in:

• You will contribute to the development, documentation, and maintenance of Product Needs and System/Software Requirements, ensuring traceability between requirements and design elements.


• You will proficiently utilize GenAI tools (e.g., Gemini) to generate drafts of system engineering documentation, refine requirements, and help manage traceability, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of AI-generated content.


• You will participate in system integration testing for both software and hardware sub-systems, identifying, reporting, and troubleshooting issues collaboratively.


• You will assist in the creation of test plans and test cases, and support the generation of verification trace matrices.


• You will collaborate closely with software developers, hardware engineers, and quality assurance professionals to contribute to the overall success of project deliverables.


• You will demonstrate proactive communication, representing the Systems Engineering team in discussions and contributing to adjustments as needed.

What makes you successful:

• You have a solid understanding of Systems Engineering principles with a focus on both hardware and software design elements, preferably in New Product Development.


• You are skilled in using GenAI tools (e.g., Gemini) to efficiently generate and refine system engineering documentation and maintain traceability, critically reviewing and validating AI outputs.


• You possess strong verbal and written communication skills and can communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical team members.


• You have the ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment and a willingness to learn and apply new skills as needed.


• You bring a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.


• You have experience with requirements management tools (e.g., Jama Connect) and are familiar with software development tools like Jira.


• You have demonstrated willingness to solve problems and interface with other teams as needed for product delivery.


• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 2+ years of related experience, or an advanced degree without experience.

Nice to haves:

• Experience in the medical device industry and familiarity with standards like IEC 62304 and ISO 14971.


• Systems Engineering prior training, INCOSE certifications (e.g., ASEP).


• Experience with mobile application development (Android/iOS) or BLE architecture.
