Job summary

Siemens Technology and Services Private Limited in Pune is seeking a QA Automation Engineer (JavaScript | Playwright/Cypress) with 5-8 years of software testing experience to join our team.

You will implement API automation, create scalable automation scripts, translate requirements into test strategies, perform various testing types, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.

Collaborate with agile teams to ensure high-quality releases and help drive performance and quality improvements across products.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc./MCA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• 5-8 years of experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance.
• Hands-on experience in both manual and automation testing across web applications and APIs.
• Strong experience with modern Agile development environments and quality engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Implementing and executing API automation testing through code-based solutions for improved test coverage and integration validation.
• Creating clean, scalable, and maintainable automation scripts aligned with quality engineering best practices.
• Analyzing business requirements and translating them into comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and quality strategies.
• Performing functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing to ensure product reliability.
• Managing the complete defect lifecycle, including defect identification, reporting, tracking, and validation.
• Collaborating with cross-functional Agile teams including developers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality releases.
• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated test suites.
• Driving quality improvements through effective testing processes, root cause analysis, and continuous feedback.

Must-Have Skills

• Hands-on expertise inPlaywright or Cypressfor end-to-end application testing.
• Experience inAPI test automationusing code-based frameworks and automation tools.
• Solid understanding ofsoftware testing methodologies, testing life cycle (STLC), and defect management processes.
• Experience in requirement analysis, test planning, test design, execution, and reporting.
• Strong knowledge offunctional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing.
• Experience withGit, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with defect and test management tools such asIBM Jazz, Quality Center, or similar platforms.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Hands-on experience in Performance Testing and Non-Functional Testing concepts including load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing.
• Experience with K6 for performance test scripting, execution, analysis, and reporting.
• Ability to identify performance bottlenecks, analyze test results, and collaborate with development teams to drive performance improvements.
• Experience working with modern DevOps and quality engineering practices.
• Knowledge of test framework design, reusable automation architecture, and automation best practices.
• Exposure to performance, security, or accessibility testing concepts.
• Experience integrating automated test suites within enterprise CI/CD environments.
• Understanding of Agile frameworks including Scrum and Kanban.
• Experience working with global and distributed teams.
• Relevant certifications in Software Testing, Automation Testing, Agile, or Quality Engineering.
