System Stability Engineer – Server Platform
Overview
Work on Qualcomm’s ARMv9 server CPU platforms, ensuring high reliability and stability across hardware, firmware, and software layers.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Validation
- Validate boot flows, power management, UEFI/BIOS, BMC, ACPI/SMBIOS.
- Verify CPU, memory, storage, PCIe Gen5/6, CXL, multi-socket/NUMA.
Stability & Stress
- Run long-duration CPU/memory/I/O/thermal/cloud stress tests.
- Validate virtualization (KVM/QEMU) and Kubernetes clusters.
- Perform fault-injection and power/thermal cycling.
Debug & RCA
- Triage failures across HW/FW/OS/app layers.
- Use logs, traces, kernel debugging, hardware debuggers for RCA.
Automation & CI
- Develop automated tests (Python/Shell).
- Integrate into CI/CD with dashboards and quality gates.
Customer Readiness
- Validate Hyperscalars/OEM configurations.
- Reproduce customer workloads in lab setups.
Qualifications
- Experience – 3+ years. Bachelors in CS/EE/Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Strong Python/Shell programming skills and Linux internals.
- Experience with UEFI/BIOS, ACPI/SMBIOS, OpenBMC/Redfish.
- Knowledge of PCIe/CXL, RAS, virtualization, CI/CD.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
