We are looking for System Integration Engineer – Power Transmission

As a System Integration Engineer for Power Transmission, you will play a crucial role in building and integrating activities across traction, brake, hybrid and auxiliary systems. You will qualify on all key elements of the power transmission subsystem, building the technical foundation to grow into senior positions across multiple engineering domains.

You’ll make a difference by
System Integration
  • Bring traction, brake, hybrid, and auxiliary software together to life in end-to-end Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) simulations as well as train-level integration testing – partnering closely with senior experts to ensure a seamless, system level integration.
  • Perform initial sanity checks on simulation results and log files to quickly identify anomalies, validate expected behavior, and flag issues early for further analysis.
Verification
  • Execute reference test steps across SiL, HiL, and system-level testing in line with approved test instructions – and continuously enhance and expand the test automation toolchain.
  • Ensure end-to-end consistency and traceability of requirements from system to software level, and prepare comprehensive verification documentation (e.g., traceability tables, screenshots, and structured evidence collection) to support audits and release readiness.
Agile engineering process
  • Thrive in an agile setup by turning system integration findings into clear, actionable change requests for the responsible domains. Stay tightly aligned with the global engineering team by actively contributing in stand‑ups and cross‑functional engineering meetings.
Technical Documentation & Process Compliance
  • Prepare and continuously update core system documentation (architecture overviews, interface descriptions, parameter lists, checklists), and collect, structure, and pre-check technical inputs for design reviews, integration meetings, and validation planning. Maintain all documentation in a consistent, audit-ready structure using the defined toolchain.
Cross-Site Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer
  • Work closely with global engineering teams – especially with the headquarters in Germany – to align technical topics across sites. Support structured knowledge transfer by supporting training materials creation and keeping guidelines and documentation up to date.
Desired Skills:
  • Several years (e.g., at least 2-3 years) of relevant professional experience in rolling stock engineering, or comparable fields
  • Completed degree Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a comparable field
  • Comfortable building deep technical understanding in a structured way, supported by mentoring and clear onboarding.
  • Proven ability to collaborate closely with senior engineers, communicate clearly across multicultural/global teams, and deliver consistently in a hands‑on environment.
  • Basic understanding of rail vehicle systems (traction, braking, communication networks) or strong willingness to learn
  • Basic skills (reading models, making simple modifications)
  • Basic skills for automation and/or data handling
  • Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics and block diagrams
  • Basic software and/or systems engineering concepts
  • Interest in system integration, verification & validation (V&V), testing, and technical documentation
  • Familiarity with the V-Model and relevant standards (e.g., EN 50716, ISO 26262) is a plus.
