Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Bengaluru seeks a System Architect for Advanced Memory System Architecture to work with the Advanced System Architecture Group on AI, servers, and mobile systems.

You will deliver architectures, run system-level simulations, model controllers, and optimize power and performance across memory and storage subsystems. Close collaboration with design teams to specify requirements and bottlenecks is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong exposure to computer architecture analysis and design tradeoffs.
• Exposure to large scale server systems with an emphasis on memory and storage subsystems.
• Experience with architectures for large, sophisticated blocks and measuring their impact at the system level.
• Proficiency in C/C++; Python and SystemC experience is a plus.
• Understanding of the C++ STL.
• Experience in memory and storage controller architecture, DDR, NVDIMM is a plus.
• Deep knowledge of architecture tradeoff analysis and modeling tools and methodologies.
• Exposure to software development practices.
• Strong knowledge of DRAM and NAND memory systems, and other memory types.
• Experience with OS memory management is a plus.
• Ability to react quickly and adapt to changes based on modeling results or project changes.
• Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, verbal communication, and written skills.
• Highly organized and self-motivated.
• Strong individual contributor and team player.

As a System Architect in the Advanced System Architecture Group, you will work with the memory industry's leading architecture team on new concepts that will craft the future of electronic systems around AI, servers, and mobile systems.

Responsibilities

Delivering architectures and innovative solutions to optimize power and performance of next-generation memory and storage subsystems. Working with design and system architecture teams to identify key system requirements, seek current bottlenecks, and propose novel solutions for a wide range of applications.

• Performing system-level simulations of innovative architectures to compare with existing design paradigms, using both open and closed-loop system performance analysis.
• Developing models of new controllers, components, memory devices, interconnects, and processors.
• Capturing, benchmarking, analyzing applications and their corresponding memory and storage access patterns.

The scope of this analysis will span from the low-level software stack down to the hardware and firmware controllers. You should have very strong knowledge of computer architecture and a deep understanding of sophisticated blocks such as caches, interconnects, memory controllers, etc.
