Job summary

LevelShift is seeking an Azure System Administrator to manage production Azure infrastructure, focusing on cloud operations, security, monitoring, automation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

You will oversee VMs, storage, SQL, backups, and identity controls; perform health checks, patching, access reviews, and RCA; support deployments across Production, UAT, and other environments. Proficiency in PowerShell and Azure CLI is required; Terraform knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years hands-on Azure administration required.
• Strong knowledge of Azure VMs, Storage, Resource Groups, Key Vault, Backup, Monitor.
• Experience with Entra ID, RBAC, Conditional Access, identity management.
• Knowledge of Azure networking: VNet, NSG, VPN, DNS, Private Endpoints.
• Experience in Azure security and Defender for Cloud.
• PowerShell and Azure CLI skills; Terraform basic knowledge preferred.
• Monitoring, patching, backups, certificates, access reviews, incident handling.
• SQL Server monitoring and performance optimization.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, meet SLAs.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor Azure VMs, storage, SQL environments, backups, and production infra.
• Perform health checks, capacity monitoring, patching, access reviews, and cert mgmt.
• Administer Entra ID, RBAC, CA, and Key Vault; enforce security controls.
• Monitor and remediate with Azure Monitor and Defender for Cloud.
• Handle incidents, service requests, troubleshooting, and RCA.
• Support deployments across Production, UAT, and other environments.
• SQL monitoring/optimization: Query Store, indexing, locks, and refreshes.
• Automate ops with PowerShell and Azure CLI; Terraform knowledge a plus.
• Maintain docs, deployment records, and compliance processes.
• Identify automation opportunities; drive process improvement and efficiency.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge.
