Celestix Industries seeks an experienced Switchgear Design Engineer to interpret customer SLDS and develop optimized LV switchgear designs, including CT ratio selection and electrical calculations. The role emphasizes UL standards compliance and certification support for a greenfield LV/MV facility.

The ideal candidate will contribute to engineering standards, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation while coordinating cross-functional teams for smooth factory setup and reliable product delivery.

Formación

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
• 8–15 years of LV/MV switchgear design experience.
• Experience with Greenfield manufacturing projects and product transfer.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to establishing a Greenfield LV/MV switchgear manufacturing facility.
• Develop engineering standards, design procedures, and product documentation.
• Support factory layout planning and integration with manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate equipment installation and production setup.
• Assist in vendor selection and technical evaluation of equipment and tooling.
• Prepare GA drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, schematics, and fabrication drawings.
• Perform electrical calculations including busbar sizing, cable sizing, short-circuit calculations, voltage drop, heat dissipation, protection coordination.
• Ensure designs comply with UL standards and support testing activities.
• Coordinate with third-party laboratories for product certification.
• Maintain compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Provide engineering support during panel assembly and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
• Improve manufacturability and reduce production costs through design optimization.
• Support prototype development and first-article inspections.

Job Title Switchgear Design Engineer – Greenfield Project (LV/MV Switchgear) Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Switchgear Design Engineer capable of interpreting customer Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and developing optimized Low Voltage (LV) switchgear designs. The candidate should be proficient in selecting Current Transformer (CT) ratios, performing electrical design calculations, and engineering compact, high-power-density switchgear solutions that maximize performance within limited enclosure space. Designs must comply with applicable UL standards and meet all UL certification requirements, including type testing, construction review, and Follow-Up Service (FUS) compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Greenfield Project Responsibilities

• Participate in establishing a Greenfield LV/MV switchgear manufacturing facility.
• Develop engineering standards, design procedures, and product documentation.
• Support factory layout planning and integration with manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate equipment installation and production setup activities.
• Assist in vendor selection and technical evaluation of manufacturing equipment and tooling.

Switchgear Design & Engineering Design

• LV and MV switchgear panels, MCCs, PCCs, Distribution Boards (DB), and control panels.
• Prepare GA drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, schematics, and fabrication drawings.
• Design copper and aluminium busbar systems based on current-carrying capacity and short‑circuit requirements.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM), technical specifications, and manufacturing drawings.
• Perform electrical calculations including: Busbar sizing, Cable sizing, Short circuit calculations, Voltage drop calculations, Heat dissipation, Protection coordination.

Standards & Compliance

• Ensure all designs comply with applicable UL standards.
• Support type testing and routine testing activities.
• Coordinate with third‑party laboratories for product certification.
• Maintain compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.

Manufacturing Support

• Provide engineering support during panel assembly.
• Resolve manufacturing and installation‑related technical issues.
• Improve manufacturability and reduce production costs through design optimization.
• Support prototype development and first‑article inspections.
• Participate in value engineering and cost reduction initiatives.

Cross‑Functional Coordination

• Work closely with Sales, Projects, Procurement, Production, QA/QC, and Service teams.
• Coordinate with customers for technical clarifications and design approvals.
• Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and customer inspections.
• Provide technical support during commissioning activities.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of LV and MV switchgear design.
• Experience designing PCC, MCC, APFC Panels, Distribution Boards, Synchronizing Panels, and Control Panels.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar CAD software.
• Knowledge of electrical protection systems and relay coordination.
• Understanding of UL standards.
• Strong knowledge of electrical components including: Air Circuit Breakers (ACB), Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB), Vacuum Circuit Breakers (VCB), Contactors, Relays, Busbars, CTs/PTs.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and engineering documentation.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• 8–15 years of experience in LV/MV switchgear design.
• Experience in Greenfield manufacturing projects.
• Exposure to product development and technology transfer.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
• Experience working with international customers is an advantage.
