Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Organizational Management Define and execute the strategic vision and operating model for Wealth NAM Loans Operations in alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Lead and develop a high-performing organization, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Establish organizational priorities, performance goals, workforce strategies, and succession plans to support long-term business growth. Oversee resource management, organizational design, and budget utilization to ensure operational efficiency and scalability. Serve as a senior member of the Wealth Operations leadership team, contributing to enterprise-wide initiatives and strategic decision-making.
- Loan Lifecycle Management Provide executive oversight across the full lending lifecycle, including onboarding, documentation review, booking, funding, servicing, amendments, and loan closure activities. Ensure effective execution of Agency, Syndicated, Bilateral, Structured Lending, and Securities-Based Lending transactions. Partner with Relationship Managers, Credit Officers, Product teams, Legal Counsel, and market participants to facilitate timely transaction execution. Oversee servicing activities including principal and interest processing, fee administration, drawdowns, repayments, reference rate resets, amendments, and portfolio maintenance. Maintain high standards of operational accuracy, service quality, and client satisfaction.
- Transformation, Automation & Operational Excellence Lead strategic initiatives that modernize lending operations, including Loan IQ adoption, workflow digitization, lending platform enhancements, and operating model redesign. Champion the use of automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies to improve productivity and control effectiveness. Drive process standardization, simplification, and scalability across products and operational functions. Establish continuous improvement frameworks that enhance efficiency, quality, employee experience, and operational resilience. Support business expansion and product innovation through scalable operational capabilities and technology-enabled solutions.
- Risk, Controls & Governance Maintain a robust operational risk and control framework aligned with regulatory expectations and enterprise risk standards. Ensure effective governance, issue management, quality assurance, escalation, and control-monitoring practices across the organization. Identify and mitigate operational, regulatory, and control risks while ensuring sustainable remediation of identified issues. Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Audit functions to support examinations, audits, regulatory reviews, and corrective action programs. Promote a culture of ownership, transparency, and disciplined risk management.
- Executive Stakeholder Management Serve as the senior operational representative for Wealth Loans Operations across business, product, technology, and control functions. Build trusted partnerships with senior stakeholders and influence strategic decisions through business insights and operational expertise. Represent Loans Operations in governance committees, executive reviews, regulatory engagements, and transformation programs. Communicate business performance, operational risks, and strategic priorities effectively to executive audiences. Drive alignment and execution across highly matrixed organizations.
- Business Performance & Strategic Delivery Deliver business objectives by balancing growth, client service, operational capacity, risk management, and financial performance. Establish and monitor key performance indicators, service level agreements, productivity measures, and client service metrics. Ensure operational readiness for new products, platform implementations, and strategic business initiatives. Leverage data and analytics to drive decision-making, improve operational performance, and identify opportunities for optimization. Provide subject matter expertise for enterprise-wide lending initiatives and strategic programs.
- Regulatory Compliance & Conduct Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, corporate policies, and governance requirements. Demonstrate sound judgment and uphold the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and professional conduct. Protect Citi, its clients, and reputation through proactive issue escalation, effective risk management, and disciplined regulatory execution.
Requirements
- Experience 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial lending operations, wealth lending, Securities-Based Lending, credit operations, or related financial services functions. 7+ years of senior leadership experience managing large-scale, multi-disciplinary operations organizations. Demonstrated success leading business transformation, operating model evolution, and technology modernization initiatives. Proven experience delivering enterprise-level strategic programs within a global financial institution.
- Technical & Domain Expertise Deep understanding of the end-to-end commercial and wealth lending lifecycle, including origination, documentation, servicing, and portfolio management. Expertise in Agency, Syndicated, Bilateral, Structured Lending, and Securities-Based Lending products. Strong knowledge of loan documentation, credit agreements, operational controls, risk management frameworks, and regulatory requirements. Experience with industry-leading loan platforms such as Loan IQ, Flexcube or similar lending systems.
- Leadership & Transformation Capabilities Proven ability to lead large global teams and drive organizational effectiveness within complex and highly matrixed environments. Strong experience delivering operational transformation, automation, digitization, and process optimization initiatives. Demonstrated success building high-performing teams, developing talent, and strengthening leadership pipelines. Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive consensus across multiple business and functional areas.
- Risk & Control Excellence Expert understanding of operational risk, governance, compliance, audit practices, and regulatory expectations. Strong capability in identifying, escalating, mitigating, and resolving operational and control-related risks. Experience managing regulatory examinations, audit engagements, and remediation programs.
- Executive Presence & Communication Exceptional executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to communicate complex business, operational, and risk concepts clearly to senior management and governance forums. Strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and decision-making capabilities.
- Education Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline required. CA, MBA, Master's degree, CFA, FRM, or other advanced professional qualification preferred.
