Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and execution of mining operations.
• Oversee drilling and blasting operations, ensuring adherence to safe practices.
• Monitor the operation of equipment and ensure safe working conditions.
• Conduct routine safety inspections to ensure that the mining site meets legal standards.
• Enforce safety protocols among the team, including proper use of PPE.
• Record daily operational activities and prepare production reports for supervision.
• Assist in inventory management by tracking materials and tools used.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and workers for smooth workflow.
• Train new workers on safety and operational procedures.
• Assist the blaster in charge with loading, charging, and firing explosives following safety protocols.
• Monitor and control access to the blasting area during operations.
• Be prepared to respond to emergencies and ensure readiness of response plans.

Job Description:

Job Purpose

Daily Operations:

• Assist in the planning and execution of mining operations.
• Oversee the drilling and blasting operations, ensuring adherence to safe practices.
• Monitor the operation of equipment and ensure safe working conditions.

Safety and Compliance:

• Conduct routine safety inspections to ensure that the mining site meets legal standards.
• Enforce safety protocols among the team, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Report any safety hazards, incidents, or breaches to the supervisor immediately.
• Operate and manage mining machinery such as drills, loaders, and excavators.
• Perform regular maintenance checks on equipment to prevent breakdowns.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Record daily operational activities, including work completed and issues encountered.
• Prepare reports on production and submit them to the supervisor for evaluation.
• Assist in inventory management by tracking materials and tools used.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and workers to ensure smooth workflow.
• Train new workers and brief them on safety and operational procedures.

Blasting Operations:

• Assist the blaster in charge with loading, charging, and firing explosives following safety protocols.
• Monitor and control access to the blasting area during operations.

Emergency Response:

• Being prepared to respond to emergencies such as fires, accidents, or natural disasters. The Mines Foreman must ensure that emergency response plans are in
• place, personnel are trained in emergency procedures, and appropriate equipment and resources are readily available during the shift.
