Supply Chain Team Leader
Role Overview
The Supply Chain Team Leader is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day supply chain operations, leading a team to ensure efficient planning, procurement, inventory management, logistics, and timely order fulfillment. The role focuses on improving operational efficiency, meeting service levels, and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operations
- Lead, supervise, and motivate a supply chain operations team
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure target achievement
- Conduct team meetings, coaching, and performance reviews
Planning & Coordination
- Support demand forecasting and supply planning activities
- Coordinate with procurement, warehouses, logistics partners, and vendors
- Ensure smooth flow of materials and products across the supply chain
Inventory & Order Management
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent stock‑outs and excess stock
- Ensure accurate order processing, dispatch, and delivery timelines
- Handle escalations related to delays, shortages, or quality issues
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, quality standards, and compliance requirements
- Support implementation of new systems, tools, or process changes
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Track KPIs such as OTIF, inventory turnover, fill rate, and lead time
- Prepare MIS reports and dashboards for management review
- Use data insights to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with internal teams (sales, production, finance, customer service)
- Coordinate with external suppliers, transporters, and 3PL partners
Skills & Competencies
- Strong team management and leadership skills
- Good understanding of end‑to‑end supply chain operations
- Analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Effective communication and coordination skills
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and MS Excel
- Ability to work in fast‑paced and deadline‑driven environments
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related field
- 47 years of experience in supply chain or logistics roles
- Prior experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor preferred
- Experience in retail, manufacturing, or e-commerce is an advantage
