Role Overview
As a Strategic and Tactical Procurement Specialist at Hitachi Energy India Limited, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely procurement activities in collaboration with local and global suppliers. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will play a crucial role in planning, executing, and reporting project sourcing performance, defining project procurement rules, establishing project procurement plans, and overseeing order placement deliveries to ensure timely execution and cost efficiency. Your involvement will be across projects of varying sizes and scopes, spanning different business fields and technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the implementation and execution of Hub India commodity sourcing strategies for direct materials.
- Provide tender support, commodity management, monitor suppliers' delivery performance, drive cost reduction, ensure supplier forecast accuracy, and encourage continuous improvement.
- Support all CRP/SAS/RTU/FOTE/PLCC projects at the tender stage for your assigned commodity.
- Lead negotiations with selected suppliers focusing on cost and quality improvement, utilizing digital sourcing solutions where applicable.
- Participate actively in kick-off and tender progress meetings for selected target projects.
- Identify sourcing‑related opportunities and critical conditions of client's tender specifications.
- Communicate and implement sourcing strategy to the local tender team, involving HUB SCM Manager if required.
- Ensure RFQs are issued in compliance with tender‑specific terms and conditions.
- Define target prices for main equipment with support from the local tender team and HUB SCM Manager.
- Manage execution and tracking of Hub India commodity procurement activities through CSS teams.
- Collaborate with cross functions, provide timely updates on product delivery details to stakeholders, and act as the first point of contact for all sourcing/supplier topics for the project team.
- Continuously identify improvement opportunities and ensure their implementation in each country, including updates in ERP systems.
Qualifications Required
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Minimum 8 to maximum 12 years of relevant supply chain management experience.
- Minimum 5 years of knowledge on commodities like Ethernet Switch, Main 2 relays, IPC, IT Hardware, Meters, Software, Networking items, Control Cable, UPS & Battery, RTU, Integration service, etc.
- Familiarity with supply chain tactical procurement processes and industrial turnkey contracts.
- Knowledge of materials export and import processes, SAP ERP system, and supplier claim handling.
- Proficiency in MIS reporting, MS Office (Excel/PPT/data analysis), and English language (written and spoken).
- Familiarity with contracts management, commercial/legal aspects of purchasing, and proven negotiation skills.
- Ability to interface with numerous external and internal parties at different levels in a project environment.
