Responsibilities

• Manage supplier quality interactions, including assessment of supplier quality systems and approval processes.
• Coordinate APQP-driven resourcing of current products and new process approvals.
• Facilitate communication between plants and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
• Ensure corrective actions are in place and documented for discrepant materials.
• Measure supplier quality performance and drive improvements to targets.
• Provide input to Commodity Teams on sourcing strategies.
• Oversee audits of supplier quality systems and manufacturing processes.
• Use project management tools to handle multiple tasks.
• Apply quality planning, evaluation, and control to manufacturing and installation.
• Manage systems for plant/customer issues like CAPA, nonconforming material reports.
• Lead containment activities.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce defects and improve design.
• Ensure development meets quality standards.
• Identify problems, prioritize actions, lead or participate in Six Sigma projects.
• Participate in change management: verify products, analyze data, present results.
• Lead audits of processes and quality systems.
• Work with purchasing to improve purchased parts quality.
• Serve as a quality technical resource across functions.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Will manage the quality interaction with assigned suppliers, including the assessment of a given suppliers quality systems, supplier selection, and traditional quality assurance activities such as corrective action, containment, and process approval.
• Manages the successful resourcing of current products or process approval of new products utilizing the tools of APQP.
• Facilitates regular communications between manufacturing plants and suppliers to resolve supplier quality related issues.
• Ensures that appropriate actions are in place and corrective action plans are documented from suppliers to address discrepant materials when they occur.
• Measures supplier quality performance according to documented procedures and drives appropriate improvements to meet established targets.
• Provide input to Commodity Teams in the development of overall sourcing strategies.
• Oversees and performs audits of suppliers quality systems and manufacturing processes.
• Utilize project management tools to complete multiple, varied, tasks.
• Applies the principles of product quality planning, evaluation, and control in support of the manufacturing and installation operations of the organization.
• Responsible for applicable systems related to plant / customer issues such as corrective action requests, supplier corrective action requests, nonconforming material reports, etc.
• Leads containment activities.
• Facilitates continuous improvement quality activities to reduce the potential for defects and ensures continual improvement in process and product design.
• Ensures products and process development meet quality standards.
• Identifies problems, prioritizes actions, leads or participates in Six Sigma projects.
