Job summary

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) in India seeks an experienced substation engineering professional to handle sizing and procurement for electrical equipment and support for AIS/GIS substations. You will review vendor drawings and coordinate with power plants/grid teams, while maintaining strong client interfaces.

The role requires cross-functional collaboration, technical grounding in EHV/HV systems, and proactive engagement with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver detailed engineering for substations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sizing and procurement support for electrical equipment.
• Experience with AIS/GIS substations and EHV/HV equipment.
• Ability to interact with clients independently and in a cross-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Sizing and procurement support for electrical equipment (Transformers, CT/VT, EHV/HV, cables, batteries, UPS, busbars) and related calculations.
• Review vendor drawings for EHV/HV equipment (AIS/GIS), transformers, switchgears, panels, and control cables.
• Prepare signals exchange list with Power plant/Grid; contribute to AIS/GIS substations engineering.
• Communicate effectively, coordinate across disciplines, and interact with clients independently.
• Contribute to detailed engineering for substation projects in a multi-disciplinary team.

Role & responsibilities

• Should have knowledge of sizing and procurement support for Electrical equipment like Transformers, CT/VT, EHV/HV Equipment, EHV/HV and LV cable sizing, Battery & Battery chargers, UPS, cables, busbar/conductor sizing calculation, short circuit force calculation, earthing, lightning, lighting,

• Technically sound.

• Review of Vendor drawings for EHV/HV Equipment (AIS/GIS), transformers, Switchgears, panels, control cables,

• Preparation of Signals exchange list with Power plant / Grid. Experience in engineering for AIS/GIS substations.

• Good communication skills both oral and written, team player, interdisciplinary co-ordination experience.

• Must have worked in Substation projects for Detailed engineering in a multi-disciplinary team.

• Must be able to interact with client independently.
