Job summary

Sweco is seeking a Substation Design Engineer to join our Energy Division and work on Denmark projects. You will design and upgrade electrical substations, preparing drawings and documents while collaborating with a skilled team for a sustainable energy future.

The role requires 5+ years in electrical engineering and power system design, with experience in substations or power installations, and proficiency in AutoCAD/MicroStation/PLS-CADD/Caddy++.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering and power system design.
• Experience designing substations or power installations.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, PLS-CADD, Caddy++.

Responsibilities

• Design high-voltage substations ranging from 10 kV to 50 kV.
• Prepare engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Study existing electrical installations and suggest improvements or new solutions.
• Work on transformer installations and related electrical systems.
• Coordinate requirements for foundations and steel structures.

About the Role

Sweco is looking for an experienced Substation Design Engineer to join our Energy Division and work on exciting projects in Denmark.

In this role, you will help design and upgrade electrical substations that are essential for power transmission and the green energy transition. You will work with a team of skilled engineers and contribute to projects that support a sustainable future.

What You Will Do

• Design high-voltage substations ranging from 10 kV to 50 kV.
• Prepare engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Study existing electrical installations and suggest improvements or new solutions.
• Work on transformer installations and related electrical systems.
• Prepare:
• Profile drawings
• Support procurement activities and review designs prepared by team members.
• Update and maintain existing drawings and technical documents.
• Coordinate requirements for foundations and steel structures.

Types of Projects You Will Work On

• New high-voltage power connections
• Modernization of existing substations
• Replacement of old electrical equipment and components

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering and power system design.
• Experience in designing substations or power installations.
• Knowledge of any of the following software:
• AutoCAD
• MicroStation
• PLS-CADD
• Caddy++
• Understanding of transmission and distribution systems from 10 kV to 400 kV.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
