Job summary

Birlasoft is seeking a Windchill Consultant in Bengaluru to drive Windchill customization, development, documentation, testing, and maintenance in an Agile setup. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to DevOps and AWS-based deployments.

The role requires 6–8 years of Windchill experience, strong Java/REST/JavaScript skills, and exposure to BOM/Part/Document management, ERP/CAD integrations, and GIT/Jira/SVN workflows. Bengaluru location with on-site work expected.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience with PTC Windchill.
• Experience in Windchill customization, development fundamentals, documentation, testing, maintenance, and performance tuning.
• Proven ability with agile methods, source control, problem resolution, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
• Experience working on AWS and integration scenarios (ERP/CAD) will be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Windchill modules, BOM/Part/Document management, and CAD integration.
• Familiarity with version control tools (GIT, Jira, SVN) and basic PLM processes.

Responsibilities

• Work as Windchill Consultant to support Windchill applications and customizations.
• Implement Windchill features, perform debugging, and ensure code quality and documentation.
• Collaborate in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams.
• Engage in deployment, migration, and performance tuning tasks.
• Assist in integration with ERP, CAD tools, and CREO workflows.
• Provide technical guidance on PLM topics and best practices.

Windchill Consultant

Brief Summary:

• 6 to 8 years experience in PTC Windchill


• Experienced in: Windchill Customization Debugging, Windchill Development Fundamentals, Documentation, Software Testing, Software Maintenance, Software Performance Tuning,


• Strong product development methodology and tools experience including agile methods, source management, problem resolution, automated testing, DevOps, GITHUB, SVN etc.


• Experience working on AWS

Technical competences: (Required)

• Windchill Application

• Strong Experience in basic and advanced Java, REST API, Webservices, JavaScript, Shell scripting, SQL, HTML, CSS.


• Knowledge of Windchill implementation in basic modules is must


• Very skilled in PTC Windchill - PDM Link customization, XML, Database(SQL) programming


• In depth knowledge and good experience in JAVA, J2EE, JSP, Java Script


• Good understanding of basic PLM processes like BOM Management, Part Management, Document Management, EBOM, MBOM, CAD Integration, Configuration Management, Requirements management in PLM System.


• Knowledge of PDM Link CREO Integration, Knowledge about various integrations like ERP integration, CAD integration etc. will be added advantage


• Experience in light weight generation, publication process, publishing etc


• Knowledge of BOMs in Context management BOM Handling


• Basic knowledge of UML, Unix administration


• Experience in Upgrade migration is an added advantage


• Experience of Oracle, GIT, Jira tools and working in Agile setup


• Have a strong business focus and is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of the business
