Job summary

Burns & McDonnell India is seeking a well-rounded Structural Engineer for the Mumbai office. The role involves planning, coordinating, and executing structural design tasks for power facilities, with collaboration across domestic and international teams.

A strong foundation in civil/structural engineering and relevant software is essential. The ideal candidate will have 2–9 years of related experience, excellent communication and analytical skills, and the ability to adapt standard techniques to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum 2–9 years of related experience.
• Software proficiency includes RISA-3D, RISA Foundation, Ram Connection, STAAD.Pro, Navisworks and/or Smart Plant Review.
• Excellent written & verbal communication, as well as strong analytical & problem-solving skills, are required.
• Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
• Previous consulting engineering experience in power industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates engineering work independently.
• Evaluates, selects, adapts, and modifies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Applies knowledge of engineering principles and practices in specialty and related areas.
• Coordinates departmental and divisional project studies and report preparation.
• Coordinates with equipment suppliers/vendors, project managers, and other engineering disciplines.
• Works with modelers, designers, and detailers in the Mumbai office and various U.S. offices.
• Performs routine and complex calculations and designs using computer-aided and manual design techniques.
• Designs equipment foundations.
• Performs structural steel design for pipe racks and other power plant structures.
• Coordinates project design assignments and design teams.
• Interprets complex engineering problems and develops appropriate solutions.
