In this role, the Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for leading and supporting global sourcing initiatives across Business Intelligence including Data, Analytics, Competitive Intelligence, Library Services and Consent & Campaign Management
The Strategic Sourcing Manager will play a key role in developing and executing sourcing strategies that align with business objectives, category strategy, and global requirements. This includes leading sourcing initiatives, cross-functional collaboration across Category Management, Procurement Business Partners, Finance, Legal and enabling third-party solutions that enhance AMGEN spend management, for the categories under the scope of responsibility.
The Strategic Sourcing Manager will conduct scenario analysis and award suppliers beyond TCO, use evaluation criteria including Amgen-wide and business objectives (i.e. small business, sustainability, innovation) and align award decisions based on broader supplier strategy and relationships.
The role will apply strong financial and analytical acumen to evaluate supplier proposals, pricing structures, spend and market data, business requirements, and sourcing scenarios to support fact-based recommendations and maximize value.
Success in this role requires the ability to operate effectively in a complex global stakeholder environment, apply creative problem solving to ambiguous business challenges, and leverage procurement technology, analytics, and market intelligence to improve sourcing decisions and business outcomes.

Maintain strong focus on delivering measurable business value through strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement leadership. Highly self-motivated with a proactive mindset and prioritization capabilities
Master’s degree and 4-8 years of business partnering, category management, strategic sourcing and/or related experience, OR
Bachelor’s degree and 8-12 years of business partnering, category management, strategic sourcing and/or related experience, AND
In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have experience , leading projects, programs, or directing the allocation of resources.
Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above.
