Nextpower India Private Limited in Hyderabad is seeking a Supply Chain Data Scientist to drive data analytics, reporting, and optimization across procurement, production, inventory, and logistics. You will build and deploy models, forecasts, and Power BI dashboards to enable data-driven decision-making and improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills on complex datasets.
  • Experience with SQL and at least one programming language (Python).
  • Solid understanding of statistics, data analysis, and visualization techniques.
  • Experience in data optimization, forecasting, or predictive analytics.
  • Proficiency in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, dashboard development).
  • Exposure to AI and agentic modeling is a plus.
  • Advanced communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
  • Fluent English in oral and written communications.
  • Results-oriented mindset with ability to think creatively and drive outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets across procurement, production, inventory, and logistics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Build and deploy data models, forecasting solutions, and optimization techniques to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI for supply chain visibility.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to integrate data from ERP and other systems.
  • Present insights and dashboards to leadership and stakeholders, including the Strategy Director.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through advanced analytics and innovation.

The Supply Chain Data Scientist will be based in Hyderabad, Nextpower office. In this position, you will report to the Steel Supply Chain Strategy Director. The Supply Chain Data Scientist will be responsible for driving data analytics, reporting, and optimization initiatives within the steel supply chain, enabling data-driven decision-making and enhancing operational efficiency through advanced analytics and Power BI solutions.

  • Analyze large datasets across procurement, production, inventory, and logistics to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Work with steel supply chain and strategy teams to understand business challenges and translate them into data-driven solutions
  • Build and deploy data models, forecasting solutions, and optimization techniques to improve efficiency and reduce cost
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI for supply chain visibility
  • Automate reporting processes and ensure high data accuracy and consistency
  • Perform root cause analysis and provide actionable recommendations for performance improvement
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to integrate data from ERP and other systems
  • Present insights and dashboards to leadership and stakeholders, including the Strategy Director
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through advanced analytics and innovation
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and documentation of reporting processes undefined

Here are a few of our preferred experiences…
  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Engineering, Analytics, Mathematics, or related field; graduate degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, or Business Intelligence roles
  • Experience in Steel, Manufacturing, or Commodity Indexing
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle, Anaplan, NetSuite, Salesforce etc.)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and data platforms
  • Experience working in an international environment
