Job summary

CommBank in Bangalore is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own design, development, and operation of scalable .NET applications. You will lead microservices on AWS, shape CI/CD, and drive automation across the full software lifecycle.

The role requires strong debugging, collaboration across teams, and hands-on cloud experience with logging/monitoring tools. You will contribute to DevOps practices, API testing, and performance tuning for a secure, resilient platform.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Cycle Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, testing, and automation, with a passion for DevOps and a systematic approach to solving complex problems. This role requires excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, experience in leading teams, and a deep understanding of the infrastructure that runs .NET applications.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using technologies such as C# /.NetCore.
• Hands‑on experience on cloud technologies, especially AWS.
• Design and implement microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
• Lead and deploy CI/CD strategies, ensuring the stability and security of the cloud platform.
• Operate and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub actions, TeamCity, Artifactory, and Octopus Deploy.
• Automate repetitive tasks using Python, shell scripting, and PowerShell.
• Drive automation through understanding processes and implementing improvements.
• Develop test automation frameworks and strategies, focusing on Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), and DevOps.
• Conduct web services and API testing using tools like POSTMAN, Bruno, etc.
• Work with various application teams to ensure the stability and security of the cloud platform.
• Ensure excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills on applications.
• Implement and maintain logging and monitoring solutions using CloudWatch, AppDynamics, Splunk, observe, Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Apply industry best QA patterns and practices, including Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).
• Development experience in web services, REST/SOAP/XML, and API/service-based testing using tools such as POSTMAN, Bruno, etc.
• Utilize cloud technologies and build/test cloud-based applications, with a preference for AWS.

Essential Skills

• 13+ years of industry experience as a .Net Backend engineer.
• MVC with .NET Core, REST APIs, microservices; experience on .NET Framework is helpful but not must have; streaming platforms like Kafka are good to have too.
• Unit/Integration/Acceptance testing experience with Selenium.
• C# with good knowledge of OOP concepts and design patterns.
• CI/CD: Any Git source control tool, build tools like TeamCity or Jenkins, deployment tooling like Octopus Deploy or similar.
• Databases: Relational databases such as MSSQL or Oracle; NoSQL database like MongoDB is a plus.
• Hands‑on AWS (EC2, VPC, ASG, ALB, Lambda, ECS, EKS, S3).
• Monitoring: Familiarity with Splunk or similar monitoring tool; performance tooling like AppDynamics is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills; working experience with Agile methodologies.

Education Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Computer Science or Information Technology.
