Job summary

Broadcom Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to address time-critical enhancements for the Security product family. You will design, code, review, and mentor others, with emphasis on debugging complex, high-performance systems and applying AI tools for productivity.

This role demands strong Java/J2EE skills and deep security domain knowledge. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in software development, with experience across Windows/Unix internals and enterprise-grade

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java/J2EE and enterprise applications.
• Deep understanding of Windows and Unix OS internals.
• Proven ability to debug multi-threaded high-performance applications.
• Experience with AI tools to boost productivity.
• Security domain knowledge: OAuth/OpenID/PKI/SSL/IAM.

Responsibilities

• Design and code complex enhancements to meet requirements within schedule and budget.
• Write and maintain technical documentation of design, logic, and changes.
• Perform unit/module testing to validate specifications.
• Fix bugs and extend software to new platforms.
• Participate in design and code reviews with peers.
• Mentor and coach less experienced engineers.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for addressing complex time-critical enhancements and customer issues for the Security product family. Also to provide design, code reviews to complex code modifications and mentor others on debugging approaches to solve complex issues. Use of AI tools for productivity and efficiency is required.

Skills Required

• Strong Java/J2EE programming (Java full-stack) skills with experience on enterprise class applications
• Strong Design & Debugging skills
• Strong knowledge of Windows / Unix Operating Systems Internals
• Very good at debugging Multi-threaded, high performance Applications
• Ability to use AI tools effectively to improve efficiency, productivity
• Enterprise Security domain knowledge and experience: OAuth, OpenID, PKI (Certificates), SSL, IAM / Federation, Privileged Identity use cases
• Good Communication, Coaching & mentoring skills

Key Responsibilities

• Design and code complex enhancements that meet functional and business requirements on schedule and within budget.
• Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
• Perform unit/module testing of software to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications.
• Fix bugs, add enhancements, and convert software to other platforms.
• Actively participate in design and code reviews with other developers.
• Provide product content to Technical Writers.
• Mentor, train, develop and serve as a knowledge resource for less experienced Software Engineers.
