Okta Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Onboarding and Lifecycle Management (LCM) Platform team in Bengaluru. The role focuses on importing, syncing, and provisioning identities and access policies, building scalable infrastructure, and delivering reliable product code on cloud platforms.

You will design solutions, maintain services, and lead technical efforts with senior engineers. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in Java, strong experience with SCIM and Spring Boot, and

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Software Development in Java, preferably with SCIM and Spring Boot.
  • 5+ years building services, internal tools and frameworks.
  • 2+ years automating and deploying large-scale production services in AWS, GCP or similar.
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure technologies: caching, stream processing, resilient architectures.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and SOAP APIs.
  • Ability to work effectively with distributed teams and mentor junior engineers.
  • Nice to have: Server-side caching, asynchronous processing, multi-threading.
  • Experience with TDD and IAM protocols (OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior engineers on major development projects and design implementations.
  • Contribute to LCM infrastructure enhancements and provisioning features.
  • Troubleshoot customer issues and debug from logs (Splunk, Syslogs).
  • Design and implement features with tests, monitoring, and alerts.
  • Lead design and code reviews, performance tuning, and prototyping for scale.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
