Job summary

Vistance Networks in Bengaluru, India seeks a Staff Software Engineer to help design and deliver Service Assurance software. You will craft scalable backend services, lead debugging and performance-tuning tasks, and collaborate across teams to promote best practices.

The role requires extensive Java/Spring experience, distributed systems knowledge, and strong networking and data-storage skills. Join a fast-moving Agile environment focused on reliability and innovation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience developing commercial software products for Linux-based distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring ecosystem for building scalable backend services.
• Experience designing, developing, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning distributed and microservices-based applications.
• Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols, including TCP/IP, SNMP, gRPC/gNMI, and socket programming.
• Working with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and data-access frameworks.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, including Kafka, Kafka Streams, and RabbitMQ.
• Familiar with RESTful APIs and data serialization like JSON, XML, and Avro.
• Experience with containerized apps using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with development and DevOps tools, including Maven, Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and test frameworks.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

How You'll Help Us Connect the World:

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of Aurora Networks' Service Assurance software products by:

• Analyzing business and technical requirements to design scalable backend solutions and evaluate technology tradeoffs.

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

• Include demonstrated competencies and physical, mental, & interpersonal skills.
• 6+ years of experience developing commercial software products for Linux-based distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Security) for building scalable, enterprise-grade backend services.
• Experience designing, developing, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning distributed and microservices-based applications.
• Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols , including TCP/IP, SNMP, gRPC/gNMI, and socket programming.
• Working Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including data modeling, query optimization, and data-access frameworks.
• Experience with event-driven architectures , including Apache Kafka, Kafka Streams, and RabbitMQ.
• Familiar with RESTful APIs, and data serialization technologies including JSON, XML, and Avro.
• Experience with containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with development and DevOps tools , including Maven, Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and test frameworks.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

You Will Excite Us If You Have:

• Experience with telecommunications, broadband, cable (DOCSIS), fiber/PON, and network management systems.
• Understanding of cloud-native architectures and familiar with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience with observability and monitoring technologies (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
