Kinaxis is seeking a talented and passionate Staff Software Developer to join our AI/ML team. Your work will directly impact our enterprise‑grade AI/ML software solutions used by hundreds of customers worldwide.
What you will do
- All aspects of the machine learning software development life cycle are familiar to you. You are passionate about shipping large‑scale software systems in a fast‑paced environment, while balancing long‑term issues such as maintainability, scalability, and quality. You’re fluent in Python object‑oriented development and cloud technologies, have hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and big data technologies, and are eager to learn new tools.
- You will define, design, and ship end‑to‑end solutions that solve real customer problems and create automated AI/ML‑based solutions, including building a cutting‑edge application leveraging LLMs to orchestrate customers’ supply chains. Responsibilities include architectural design, design documentation, test planning, and execution.
- You will contribute to the end‑to‑end AI/ML software development lifecycle, ensuring reproducible research and state‑of‑the‑art results for customers. You will drive architecture, design, and delivery of advanced ML systems, oversee junior developers, and collaborate to unblock team members.
- You are a team player, quick starter, and problem solver, comfortable discussing requirements with product managers and contributing to cross‑functional discussions.
What we are looking for
- Education Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
- Strong software engineering skills with a minimum of 10+ years’ experience in enterprise software development.
- Agentic & Modern AI Frameworks Practical experience building solutions using agentic AI patterns, RAG, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks like LangGraph, Google ADK, OpenAI Agent SDK, including prompt engineering and context engineering for production workflows.
- End-to-End ML/AI Software Development Extensive experience developing robust ML‑driven systems with Python and modern data tooling, including debugging, optimizing, testing, and delivering production‑quality software.
- System Design & Architectural Thinking Strong ability to design scalable, resilient, and modular systems, applying deep engineering judgment to ensure correctness, performance, and long‑term maintainability.
- AI Driven Software Development Experience leveraging autonomous agents such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code to accelerate feature delivery.
- Technical Leadership & Collaboration Ability to guide architecture, mentor developers, and drive high‑quality engineering decisions across teams.
- Technical Communication Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Demonstrated experience designing comprehensive test plans, including functional, integration, system, and acceptance testing, with expertise in automation frameworks such as PyTest and continuous testing using GitHub Actions.
Nice to Have
- Domain knowledge in supply chain or manufacturing systems.
- Proven expertise in designing, provisioning, deploying, and operating large‑scale systems on AWS, Azure or GCP, with hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes (managed via Argo CD, Helm, or similar), Terraform, and distributed systems.
