Job summary

Palo Alto Networks, Inc. is seeking a senior incident response professional in Bengaluru to own the lifecycle of security incidents from outbreak to remediation.

You will work with Palo Alto’s Unit 42, collaborating with global customers and cross-functional teams to strengthen detections and responses across endpoints, networks, identity and cloud. The role requires strong leadership, deep DFIR experience, and expertise in EDR, SIEM, and SOAR.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in incident investigation, SOC analysis or DFIR.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound investigative decisions.
  • Mentor analysts during major incidents with technical direction.
  • Experience with EDR, SIEM and SOAR technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

  • Join a new emerging team part of Palo Alto’s Unit 42, working with global customers to provide the best security solution.
  • Own the incident lifecycle from outbreak to full remediation.
  • Provide feedback to product, research and engineering and threat hunting teams to improve products.
  • Collaborate with Threat Intelligence and Threat Hunting teams to detect and remediate threats.
  • Occasionally work night shifts as required by business needs.

Job Summary
Your Impact
  • Join a new emerging team who is going to be part of Palo Alto’s Unit 42, Working closely with global customers providing the best security in the market
  • Own an incident lifecycle from outbreak to full remediation
  • Provide critical feedback to the different product, research and engineering and threat hunting teams to help improve the products for the entire Palo Alto Networks’ customer base
  • Work closely with Security Research, Threat Intelligence and Threat Hunting teams to remediate and detect new emerging threats
  • This position requires flexibility to work primarily during morning and afternoon hours however, occasional night shifts may be required depending on business demands
Qualifications
Your Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in incident investigation, SOC analysis, detection engineering, DFIR, MDR, or a similar security operations role is a must
  • Ability to work independently, make sound investigative decisions on complex security incidents
  • Self-driven innovator who can operate independently, harness emerging AI tools, and continuously refine playbooks to eradicate noise and elevate operational quality.
  • Mentors analysts during major incidents by providing expert technical direction on triage, containment, and root‑cause analysis.
  • Experience investigating suspicious activity, security incidents, or targeted threats across endpoints, networks, identity, and cloud.
  • Experienced with Technologies such as EDR, SIEM, SOAR
  • Experience writing technical reports, investigation summaries and recommendations
  • Self-starter who can work independently and adapt to AI
  • A well established familiarity with attack trends and vectors
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Some degree of Malware Analysis or equivalent military experience - An advantage
  • CEH / CompTIA CYSA+ certifications - An advantage
  • Hands‑on experience with Cortex XSOAR or Cortex XDR - An advantage
