Stellantis seeks a Staff MCU BSW Engineer – OS Design to lead RTOS development on automotive MCU platforms. You will shape OS architecture, scheduling, memory management, and resource allocation for safety- and non-safety-critical ECUs across various modules.

You will champion AUTOSAR OS/OSEK integration, performance optimization, and compliance with ISO 26262, ASPICE, and MISRA C while collaborating with hardware, ECU architects, and application teams.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering field.
• 10–15 years of embedded software experience with RTOS focus.
• Proficiency in C and real-time constraints.
• Experience with AUTOSAR OS or OSEK or similar RTOS.
• Familiarity with ARM Cortex-M, Infineon AURIX, or NXP MCU architectures.
• Strong debugging, timing analysis, and driver development skills.

Responsabilidades

• Design and implement RTOS components including scheduling, memory management, and timing mechanisms.
• Lead as BSW Architect for multicore systems and inter-core communication.
• Integrate and configure AUTOSAR OS, OSEK, or proprietary RTOS for automotive MCUs.
• Optimize OS for memory usage, CPU utilization, and determinism.
• Ensure compliance with AUTOSAR standards and safety requirements (ISO 26262, ASPICE, MISRA C).
• Implement safety features like memory protection, task monitoring, and watchdog.
• Collaborate with hardware/ECU architects and application teams for seamless integration.
• Debug using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG, and timing tools.
• Create and maintain software architecture docs, safety work products, and traceability artifacts.
• Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Work in Agile, participate in code reviews and sprint planning.
• Define startup and shutdown strategies to support architecture.

We are seeking a Staff MCU BSW Engineer – OS Design to lead the development and integration ofreal-time operating system (RTOS) components on automotive microcontroller (MCU) platforms. Thisrole focuses on OS architecture, task scheduling, and resource management for safety- and non-safety-critical ECUs, such as Zonal Controllers, Powertrain Modules, and Body Electronics.

As a senior member of the Base Software (BSW) Engineering team at Stellantis, you will work on OSdesign, driver integration, performance optimization, and compliance with automotive safety andquality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement real-time operating system (RTOS) components, including task scheduling,memory allocation, and timing mechanisms.
• Proven experience as a BSW Architect, delivering solutions for multicore systems, including coreallocation strategies and inter-core communication mechanisms.
• Integrate and configure AUTOSAR OS, OSEK, or proprietary RTOS solutions for automotive MCUplatforms.
• Optimize OS-level software for efficient memory usage and CPU utilization, enhancing overall systemperformance, reliability, and determinism through code optimization and configuration tuning.
• Ensure compliance with AUTOSAR standards and functional safety requirements (e.g., ISO 26262,ASPICE, and MISRA C).
• Implemented safety requirements such as memory protection unit, task monitoring, and watchdog.
• Collaborate with hardware, ECU architects, SW requirement engineers and application teams toensure seamless software integration and robust OS abstraction.
• Debug using tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG debuggers and timing analysis tools.
• Create and maintain detailed software architecture documentation, safety work products, andtraceability artifacts.
• Contribute to CI/CD workflows, automated testing, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Work in an Agile development environment and actively participate in code reviews and sprintplanning.
• Define and design Startup and Shutdown strategies to support Architecture.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a relatedfield.
• 10–15 years of experience in embedded software development, with a strong focus on RTOS and low-level platform software.
• Proficiency in C programming with a deep understanding of real-time system constraints.
• Experience with AUTOSAR OS, OSEK, or other embedded operating systems.
• Familiarity with MCU architectures such as ARM Cortex-M, Infineon AURIX or NXP.
• Strong understanding of CPU core load distribution.
• Strong experience in debugging, timing analysis, and driver development.
• Excellent collaboration, documentation, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a relatedfield.
• Experience with ASIL-B/D software development and ISO 26262 work products.
• Proficiency in Python, Shell scripting, and automation tool development.
• Familiarity with Vector DaVinci, EB tresos, or other AUTOSAR configuration tools.
• Familiarity with debugging and trace analysis tools such as Vector TA, GLIWA, or trace debuggers.
• Exposure to power management, state machines, and secure boot in MCU-based ECUs.
• Understanding of vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
