Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Staff Engineering Technician - Piping - LNG in Mumbai, to support project engineering by developing and modifying technical deliverables using CAD/BIM tools.

You will model piping systems, generate GA and isometric drawings, conduct clash checks, and collaborate with multi-discipline teams across ASME/ANSI/ISO standards.

Requires 5+ years in piping design, AVEVA E3D, and a Diploma or Associate Degree; on-site role with opportunity for mentorship.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related piping design experience.
• Proficiency with AVEVA E3D and AutoCAD required.
• Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, ISO piping codes encouraged.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Functions in a project engineering technician capacity. Under general direction, supports engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables. Applies foundational engineering principles and established design practices to create moderately complex design concepts and solutions. Utilizes digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables. Provides technical guidance and may offer direction to other engineering professionals and technicians to ensure quality and consistency across project outputs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and model piping systems, equipment layouts, and pipe supports within the AVEVA E3D software.
• Produce various project deliverables, including general arrangement (GA) drawings, isometric drawings, and material take-offs (MTOs).
• Conduct interdisciplinary checks and clash detection to ensure design accuracy and resolve discrepancies, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards like ASME, ANSI, and ISO.
• Work closely with other design disciplines (e.g., structural, electrical, instrumentation) to achieve integrated design solutions.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other piping designers and engineers.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure design alignment with project objectives and manage design tasks within project deadlines.
• Conduct piping studies based on design basis and equipment layouts for various projects.
• Strong proficiency in AVEVA E3D, with knowledge of AutoCAD also being beneficial.
• Familiarity with piping design, industry codes (ASME, ANSI, ISO), and best practices in piping system design.
• Ability to model piping, generate drawings, and understand stress requirements and equipment datasheets.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• 10-19 years’ experience in piping design, particularly in the oil and gas sectors.

Preferred Qualifications

Diploma or Certificate preferred. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
