Job summary

InMobi Advertising in India is seeking a senior data engineering specialist to build and scale its distributed data platform. This role focuses on reliability, performance, and cost-aware design across cloud environments.

You will work with Java, Spark, Python, Kubernetes, and CI/CD; experience with AWS/GCP/Azure, Databricks, and modern data formats is valued. Join a team that values ownership and impactful delivery.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in distributed systems / data engineering.
• Proficient in Java, Spark, Python, Shell, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform.
• Experience with Azure/GCP/AWS and modern orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of data formats (Parquet, Delta, Iceberg) and compute engines (Databricks, Clickhouse, Trino).
• Design scalable, fault-tolerant data systems with cost control.

• Lead design and delivery of platform features across modern data architecture.

What is the team like?

InMobi's Supply and Monetization Platform is one of the world's leading ad serving platforms serving 260bn ad requests a day and handling 2.5+ billion users. Our products help advertisers serve ads optimally, optimize relevance of ads to make the advertiser maximize his ROI, and monitorprogressof different advertising campaigns. We handle 7Mqpspeak traffic for serving ads in milliseconds and manage 2 petabyte-scale data to match the pace of advertising

What Will You Be Doing?

• Ensure availability, stability, observability, and scalability of the data platform. Own production issue resolution, RCA, and continuous improvements.
• Lead design and delivery of platform features. Make informed choices across modern data architecture and distributed systems
• Implement best practices for performance engineering , resource optimization and lean and efficient data pipelines. Drive cost efficiency through FinOps-aligned design and observability.
• Treat platform as a product—balance usability, governance, and adoption. Define and track KPIs for usage, performance, and cost.
• Write modular, testable, and maintainable code. Build CI/CD pipelines, structured logging, and enable observability and debugging by design.
• Collaborate across teams, own stakeholder communication, drive sprint execution, and contribute to documentation. Mentor engineers and influence best practices.

What Do We Expect From You?

• 7–10 years in distributed systems /data engineering. Proficient in Java, Spark, Python, Shell, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform, observability tools, and Linux-based systems.
• Hands-on with Azure/GCP/AWS, modern orchestration tools, data formats (Parquet, Delta, Iceberg), and compute engines (Databricks, Clickhouse, Trino).
• Design scalable, fault-tolerant systems with efficient storage, caching, and cost control. Experience with model serving frameworks is a plus.
• Apply data access policies, SLA/SLO tracking, and schema evolution best practices. Enable monitoring, auditing, and incident management.
• Take initiative, prioritize business impact, mentor team members, and drive accountability in delivery and technical decision-making.
