LinkedIn Data Scientists in Bangalore, India will partner with product, engineering and design teams to drive membership growth and engagement through data-driven insights and experiments.

You will work on AI-first systems across web and mobile, shaping skill intelligence, recommendations, and internal mobility while collaborating with global teams in a hybrid setting.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, CS or Economics.
• 10+ years of experience with large data using SQL and R.
• 10+ years in Unix/Linux environments for automation via shell scripting.
• Experience with Consumer Internet products is preferred.
• Proficiency in Python or Java; Pig experience a plus.

Data Scientists on our team partner with product managers, engineers, and others to form a cross-functional team driving LinkedIn membership growth and engagement. We are looking for strong, enthusiastic data scientists to join our team in Bangalore, India focusing on International Products that create values for LinkedIn's global member base in over 200 countries.

LinkedIn Learning Solutions Engineering India is a ground-up, AI-first org building scalable systems and consumer-grade experiences that connect skills, learning, career growth, and internal mobility across LinkedIn Learning and the enterprise Career Hub. Engineers own end-to-end delivery across web, mobile, backend, data, and AI - designing architectures for skills intelligence, skill-gap detection, personalized recommendations, workforce transformation, and internal mobility—while shaping engineering standards, culture, and hiring in a greenfield environment with LinkedIn’s scale.

Responsibilities

• We inform product strategy, influence the product roadmap, and guide product decisions by
• Accessing and analyzing the world's richest professional data to generate insights and make proactive recommendations.
• Formulating success metrics for completely novel products and creating dashboards/reports to monitor them.
• Designing and analyzing experiments to test new product ideas.
• Developing models and data-driven solutions that add material lift to principal performance metrics.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• BS/MS in a quantitative discipline: Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, etc.
• 10+ years of experience working with large amounts of real data with SQL (Teradata, Oracle, or MySQL) and R, or other statistical package.
• 10+ years of experience in a Unix/Linux environment for automating processes with shell scripting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Consumer Internet products.
• Experience programming in Python, Java, or another programming language - Pig experience desired but not required.
• Ability to translate business objectives into actionable analyses.
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Knowledge in one of the following areas is a strong plus: Viral Growth mechanisms, user acquisition in International markets, Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
• Expertise in applied statistics, understanding of controlled experiments.
• Cross-cultural background and experience
