Job Description Summary

We are seeking an experienced Staff Automation Engineer to lead automation strategy, framework development, and quality engineering practices for cloud-native healthcare applications and enterprise data platforms within AIS Digital – Imaging360.

The ideal candidate will bring 8–10 years of experience across UI, API, ETL, database, cloud, and data validation automation, with strong expertise in Playwright, TypeScript, PyTest, REST API automation, AWS, SQL, and CI/CD integration.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead automation strategy, framework architecture, and roadmap execution across applications, services, and data platforms.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, regression, smoke, deployment validation, and end-to-end testing using Playwright, TypeScript, PyTest, Python, SQL, and REST API tools.
  • Define and execute validation strategies for ETL pipelines, data warehouses, data migration, source-to-target reconciliation, data quality, business rules, and analytical reporting outputs.
  • Validate cloud-native microservices and enterprise data services deployed on AWS, including RDS platforms such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
  • Integrate automation into Agile and DevOps workflows, including CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, release-readiness checks, and shift-left testing practices.
  • Drive Scrum-level test governance by defining standards, tracking test and automation coverage, reviewing adherence to best practices, and improving sprint-level quality discipline.
  • Promote AI-enabled testing across strategy, test design, test data preparation, automation development, execution analysis, defect triage, and reporting.
  • Guide, mentor, and review automation engineers’ test strategy, framework design, code quality, reusable components, pull requests, and implementation approach.
  • Showcase automation effectiveness, test coverage, quality risks, defect trends, and release readiness through dashboards, metrics, traceability reports, and stakeholder summaries.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, product owners, DevOps, system test, and integration test teams to solve technical problems and continuously improve quality outcomes.
Technical Skill Set
  • Automation frameworks: Strong hands‑on experience with Playwright, TypeScript, PyTest, Python, REST API automation, reusable automation patterns, reporting, and data‑driven execution.
  • Quality engineering: Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, TDD/BDD, shift‑left testing, test pyramid, risk‑based testing, test coverage, traceability, and quality gates.
  • Data and database testing: Expertise in ETL testing, data warehouse validation, data migration, SQL validation, source‑to‑target reconciliation, data quality checks, query optimization, and business rule validation.
  • Cloud and DevOps: Experience testing AWS‑based microservices, cloud data services, RDS platforms, Git/GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, CI/CD pipelines, deployment validation, and release automation.
  • AI‑enabled testing: Hands‑on use of GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot for test strategy, test data preparation, test design, automation scripting, execution analysis, defect triage and quality reporting.
  • Governance and reporting: Ability to define and present test coverage, automation coverage, quality metrics, risk coverage, Scrum‑level governance, and best‑practice adoption across Agile teams.
  • Technical leadership: Ability to guide, mentor, and review automation engineers’ design, code, and strategy while influencing quality practices and communicating automation status, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders.
Education Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related STEM discipline with 8–10 years of relevant experience in software testing, test automation, quality engineering, cloud testing, or enterprise data platform validation.

Desired Characteristics
  • Experience leading automation initiatives for healthcare applications, regulated software products, SaaS solutions, or enterprise data platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to define automation strategy, institutionalize testing best practices, and scale quality engineering practices across Scrum teams.
  • Strong technical problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze complex automation, test data, environment, cloud, and data validation challenges.
  • Experience collaborating with architects, developers, product owners, DevOps engineers, system test teams, integration test teams, and quality stakeholders.
  • Ability to build dashboards, reports, and metrics that clearly communicate test coverage, automation progress, risks, dependencies, and release readiness.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong ownership mindset and the ability to mentor engineers, influence decisions, and drive continuous improvement.
